 It is a shame, ... Republican Washington is not interested in a hand up to Americans struggling in tough times - it is more interested in hand outs to millionaires and the corporate special interests.

 My fear is that the Republican reaction to this is negative, ... It's clear to me that the Republican leadership simply is responding to special interests and not to the interests of ordinary Americans.

 With the amount of money the Bush-Cheney campaign has received from oil and gas interests it's no wonder they're more interested in lining the pockets of their corporate friends than in looking out for Americans' pocketbooks,

 She is in a tough spot. On the one hand, she is a very hard-working, conscientious public servant. She is going to want to pitch in if needed. On the other hand, she seems to sincerely want to spend more time with her ailing husband, and I don't think she is interested in sitting in October and November, only to be replaced and have no vote in the cases she sat on.

 The Republican culture of corruption runs so deep that it will take more than superficial changes for the Republican Congress to put middle-class Americans before special interests.

 There is no effort being made on the part of any Republican, that I'm aware of, that would allow us to do something constructive on estate tax relief today, ... Clearly they're not interested in an accomplishment. They're not interested in reducing the estate taxes of people. They're interested in playing to their base.

 We would like to see local taxes be more balanced and not overly rely on the sales tax. On the other hand, both statewide and presumably locally, we're not only interested in fairness, but we're also interested in adequate revenue for the state and presumably the local government, too.

 It is very comforting for our pitchers to know that the pitches they throw for outs - they'll get outs. We've been getting some above-average defensive play out there, and the success of our pitching goes hand in hand with the success of our defense.

 It's disappointing that neither skyrocketing gas prices nor obscene oil company profits can break the bond between Bush Republicans and Big Oil. Americans are struggling to pay the rising cost of gas, and they are not interested in handouts to help oil companies make more money by letting them drill in wildlife refuges. Now it is finally time the Republican Congress acts to provide relief and to reduce our addiction to oil.

 But I'm still interested in grownups struggling to make their lives better. I'm certainly not interested in seeing situations that I've already seen on TV shows.

 I'd be interested in finding out if there is a light you walk into, and if you do meet people from your life and walk hand in hand with Jesus. I would hate for my death to be tragic: I'd like to be old when it happens. But hopefully a young death is unlikely.

 I'd argue that CEOs, with all the corporate scandals that have taken place, are more interested in effective communication than even political people, because corporate people are interested in the bottom line, and so for them good words, good phrases, good presentation matter more than anything.

 Raise your hand. Let them know you're interested.

 A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. That's one of the concerns you hear, that she is more interested in making peace among the special interests than in enforcing the law.

 Americans will no longer tolerate the Republicans' continued abuses of power and catering to corporate special interests,
