 I met Coach (Jerry) Kill the first week he was here. He fit the mold of Southern Illinois, but he was coming into a tough situation with the football team. So, I thought this would be a way to help him with the football program.

 There (are) enough people ahead of us that could knock each other off, so we're still in a chance to move up, ... We didn't lose as much ground as I thought we would. ... What you and I and all can see, if Southern Cal don't lose and Texas don't lose, that's probably cut and dried.

 I'd rather play Southern Illinois. I know everybody on that team.

 We've bonded together as a team. They enjoy being around each other. This time always hurts. You lose that last game. For seniors, especially at this stage, it hurts.

 You never want to lose to your rival. It hurts. But more importantly, it hurts in the Big Ten race. We're going to have to win out to have a chance.

 To go from such a dramatic finish seven days ago to another one today, but with different emotions, really hurts. I really feel for my team right now. It almost hurts worse to lose like this than when you get killed.

 This was huge for the girls confidence. I don't think they realize yet how good they can be this year. Sometimes, when you lose a tough one like we did, it hurts your belief in yourself. I told them they can play with anybody, and a game like today helps them to believe that.

 That's their M.O.. That's why they're good. They don't adjust for anybody. You know when you're going to play Southern Illinois, it's going to be a physical war.
