 After the game, I was here at home kind of numb. I've never felt that way. I was almost in shock. I could hardly sleep and didn't go to work. It's been a pretty depressing day, and the last thing I wanted to hear was that it was an ACL. She worked so hard to get where she is, and it's just a tragedy.

 They didn't seem to back away from hard work, but they didn't start working that hard together. However, they worked better together as each game progressed. They wanted to win and just kept getting better.

 I thought it was a game of ups and downs for both teams. The thing that will help us from this game is how hard they (Hamden) worked. They really challenged us to work hard and this time of the year it is important to face this kind of competition.

 We were really trying to get a game with Michigan State this year. Both schools worked really hard to make this happen. Both schools wanted a home-and-home. The dates just didn't work out. I'm happy to be playing Michigan State. I wish it was in the state of Michigan.

 It was a not a pretty game. I felt our defensive pressure affected them. We take a lot of pride in defense. It's the No. 1 thing we work on. They do the same thing. The two programs kind of mirror each other that way.

So, I felt like I wanted to give myself a break in the movie world. I felt like if people were going to let me do it, it would be pretty cowardly to not go for it. So I wanted to just, in the spirit of the movie, seize the day,

 Not that the game came easy but not counting the year I had the cancer thing, I had five complete seasons where I was consistent with RBI and home runs and extra bases. It (2005) was a surprise and a shock, but you learn from it. I kind of went back to Step 1 because I wanted to come into camp here like I was trying to make the team, like I was in the minor leagues. That's the right attitude to take.

 You know obviously I ask myself that for those same reasons. You know, it's kind of hard work to put a big tour like this together, but the audience is so great and that's what it is. You know, it's the only point in your career where you actually get all these people sitting there (and) back this thing that you just felt. And it's pretty powerful.  It seemed pretty average, I mean, 2-1. I'm sure the NHL is banging on a desk somewhere, mad that it was 2-1. It didn't work tonight. It felt like the playoffs, the same kind of playoff game that we had [two years ago].

 Anytime you work hard and you see that something is removed from you that you worked so hard to accomplish, you kind of get discouraged, ... It took me almost two years to get back to where I felt like I was at that time.

 I'm still in shock about the whole thing. I didn't know Paul very well, but I've been through this before. I just feel for his family. It's such a tragedy.

 Everybody is kind of numb right now. It's a complete shock.

 I think my heart kind of went to my stomach again, but not in the bad way. I just felt a ton of relief. It's a pretty happy thing to hear when that man said 'guilty.
