 I'm actually not in pain. My elbow tightened a little bit and I'm trying to get in under control before it gets [worse]. I want to be cautious. Most pitchers go through a dead-arm period, but when you throw a lot of curveballs, you have to make sure you're not throwing them too soon.

 All our pitchers are aggressive with the fastball. But they're not afraid to throw 10 curveballs in a row.

 Right now I could probably go and throw, but I might have to make adjustments to the way I throw it to avoid pain, maybe not consciously, and then it could end up being worse.

 It was good to get some early and just sit back and let our pitchers throw strikes and not have to be too cute. Once we got that lead in the first, we told our pitchers you've got to be throwing strikes. No free passes, let our defense do the work. We only want to throw strikes, no walks at all.

 All of our pitchers have been throwing really well. We've been focusing on throwing strikes. That's what our pitchers have been doing, letting our defense make plays.

 We were throwing a lot of curveballs and cutters. When you have a left-handed-dominated lineup and I throw backdoor cutters, that's a pitch that for the most part, if they don't hit it for a base hit, it's probably going to be a flyball out. ... I work so hard on the inside part of the plate with my cutter that when I do throw it on the backside, they have a tendency to hit that ball in the air, and not with authority. Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near.  Stress does not cause pain, but it can exacerbate it and make it worse. Much of chronic pain is 'remembered' pain. It's the constant firing of brain cells leading to a memory of pain that lasts, even though the bodily symptoms causing the pain are no longer there. The pain is residing because of the neurological connections in the brain itself.

 Tommy had the MRI and right now it looks like he has a non-surgical injury to his elbow. He will not be able to throw for six weeks and then at that point he will be able to start throwing and we will see where he is.

 That guy, I will take him No. 1 pick, playing behind me anywhere. You just can't help but love him. That guy plays so hard. He's throwing curveballs, change-ups out there. He was throwing with all his might.

 He's got to take some time. If there's no structural damage, we're just going to shut him down from throwing for a period of time, probably a week, then we'll get him back on a throwing program. We'll get his strength built back up. He'll throw long, he'll throw the bases, as we work into it. And then we'll get him out on a [Minor League] rehab where he's going to catch.

 He's not really had to make a throw, we've only had one throw from a first baseman all spring. While he's probably throwing about what I expected right now, he's still got a ways to go. He hasn't had to make a throw to second, hasn't had to make a quick, hard throw and we don't know what's going to happen until that happens.

 Charlie did a good job throwing strikes tonight. If our pitchers throw strikes and we make the routine plays on defense, we'll have a chance in region play.

 The way I was throwing was putting a lot of strain on my elbow. I was playing year-round so it was constant strain. You could feel the pain getting deeper to the bone.

 All the physicians involved in this have said his pain can get worse ... but the condition won't. It's not like he's going to have a career-ending problem to his abdomen or groin and everything that happens is correctable with the surgery. So, to a point, yes, the pain may get worse. But he may be able to deal with the pain better, too, as we do more rehab and treatment.
