 I think I got kind of a worn-out team right now. I can come up with a lot of different reasons, excuses, but we were just flat-out beat. And I did not think we played with the energy we needed to play. We still hung in there, and then we had the knockout punch of that three-minute span, and Illinois deserves a lot of credit for that.

 To be honest, this morning I didn't feel like playing. I have been here since Saturday and only played my first match on Thursday so I had a lazy feeling. But as soon as I stepped on court everything turned around and my legs felt back and I was ready to fight.

 We just didn't feel like ourselves out there. We had so much fire when we beat North Dakota, but we were just flat (Thursday night). They were more intense, and I don't know why. We just didn't show up.

 I didn't quite know he was going to turn into the teen idol he turned into. Back then, he had like a flat top, like he had when he first came over here. I never envisioned him with long hair, but I'm glad he did it because it made him kind of famous.

 The other suggestion was to play in Kansas City at noon Sunday, ... We don't expect any hurricanes here. That was considered, but the league made its decision. It creates some real problems for us with travel, and with trying to squeeze a Thursday, Friday and Saturday practice all into Thursday. But we have to do what the league orders us to do.

 We just really had to come back and kind of bring everything back and just collect and just kind of reflect on what we could have done better and how we were going to change it. I think that two-week span where we didn't play, we really just concentrated on how we're going to beat any team that we would face in this tournament.

The way we looked at (defending national champion) LSU last year — we went out to prove to them we were good enough to beat them — now, game one against Georgia Tech, they're going to look at us with a target on our backs. Coaches will have their teams hyped to beat us. We have to work harder than they do to be prepared.

 He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. That place is a tough place to play. We realize you can't come out flat against that team. We didn't really get going until the end of the game. But we know that in order to beat any team in our conference we can't come out flat.

 I didn't look at it as a bad thing. I put him back in the game (with 18 seconds left) to have him guard. I don't mind that; I envy that.

 It was no consolation to come back from that big deficit. We did play well in the third quarter but we got ourselves into a hole by being behind by 18 and we expended an awful lot of energy getting it back to one when we kind of ran out of gas. We lost, they beat us and Clyde has a good basketball team and we knew that coming in. Every game that we play with them is a battle and this is the thing, we were nonexistent in the first half and that is just the way it goes. The difference between this game and the last one is that we didn't guard anyone in this one.
