 Apparently, from what we're able to put together in the preliminary investigation, the train engineer saw the family on the tracks, hit the horn and the emergency brake, but struck the mother and her children.

 Apparently the turn was misjudged and they wound up lodged on the railroad tracks. They tried to free themselves apparently, but they couldn't before they saw the train coming. Two of the people in the vehicle did get out of the car, but one passenger did parish when the car was struck by the train.

 The crew was whistling before impact and put the train into an emergency brake application. Unfortunately the train was unable to stop (in time).

 The engineer of the train reported seeing the man step out onto the tracks. Although the coroner will make an official determination, it would appear to be a suicide.

 As the train approached, they sounded the horn and got no response. They activated the emergency brakes but were unable to stop in time.

 The lights were flashing and I heard the air horn of the train. I looked to my left and I looked straight, and here's this truck going across the tracks. All of a sudden it hit, and a big fireball occurred.

 Obviously, it's a tragedy for the family and friends of this individual. Train tracks are not places for shortcuts and recreation. It's a very unforgiving environment.

 What is believed at this point, based on information obtained after the accident, is that she had a flat tire, and she apparently stopped the car in the traffic lane, ... From the preliminary investigation, we believe she stopped in the northbound lane and she had her hazard lights on.

 She was a mother, married with three kids. One of her children was a few years younger than the victim. They all apparently would hang out in the neighborhood together.

 His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. It's a classic political deal. You have to make sure, one person said to me, that instead of being on the train tracks you get on the train.

 People who make puns are like wanton boys that put coppers on the railroad tracks. They amuse themselves and other children, but their little trick may upset a freight train of conversation for the sake of a battered witticism.
