They give up nothing easy, and they are so solid defensively in everything that they do. I felt we played a good half of basketball. Hopefully, we'll get to the point where we play 32 minutes like they did.

 That's the way I play, ... I like to push the ball and attack the rim and put as much pressure on the defense as I can. Sometimes you get to the line and sometimes you can break the defense down and get a teammate an easy basket. Either way it's a good result for us.

 We were playing good defense, we're just struggling offensively putting the ball in the basket. This happened last year against Kansas on Senior Night, and we just knew we were going to catch fire, and Britt just got us going.

 We lost some focus in the second game, but overall played a pretty solid match. Our defense covered nearly everything and kept the ball in play for our hitters.

 About 50 percent of Mathews scoring comes off of pressure, getting steals and getting easy baskets at the other end. We knew we had to take care of that. Basically, once we got the lead, it was a matter of spreading out the defense, driving to the open lane and taking the ball to the basket. We really didn't take the ball to the basket strongly in the first half. Those were two simple adjustments we wanted to make in the second half.

 Focus on what you have, not what you don?t have. We had great defense; we were running the ball well, played solid special teams. That?s what you focus on and hope the others can compensate and eventually catch up.

 She's been playing well late in the season. She's hit some big threes, and we're going to try and not let her get going. We'll need to play hard defense, keep our focus, and keep the ball out of her hands.

 Defensively, we were pretty solid over all four quarters. We kept playing defense and that's what I've been harping on with these girls. You keep playing defense, the offense is going to come eventually. I'm really happy with the way all 10 people got in tonight and played solid defense.

 Lamar is such a great facilitator, he takes a load off my shoulders so I don't have to facilitate, I can just focus on putting the ball in the basket.

 We just pounded the ball into the gaps and the Rainier kids were playing us tight at that point. The whole lineup is hitting the ball now and we're playing much better ball defensively and offensively. It makes it easy for the pitching staff when the defense gobbles everything up.
