 A lot of the national environmental groups have a huge blind spot on this. They think natural gas is a clean fuel. They don't look at the impacts of extraction. Also, the national groups tend to focus on public lands, and they think private lands are sacrificial.

 President Bush nominated someone who has consistently opposed protecting public health and public lands. American families deserve an interior secretary who actually values our natural heritage. America deserves someone who will promote safe energy policies that protect sensitive lands and wildlife habitat, instead of giving over our public lands to developers and the oil and gas companies.

 Interest and advocacy groups' response to the purchasing of older animals has been very limited. Now more than ever, we need stewards from the ranching community and other supporters who care about public lands to step up and purchase these horses.

 Our bill will fully fund the rural schools program without selling even one acre of our prized public lands. Our public lands shouldn't be put up for sale to the highest bidder.

 I am particularly interested where public lands are involved and where public lands may be able to produce more energy for the nation.

 Our goal is to manage these precious lands to protect their distinctive natural features and to increase the enjoyment and understanding of visitors. The Lakeshore Nature Preserve can serve as a national model for how cities and universities can protect and sustain the natural areas within their boundaries.

 This decision balances my legal obligation to provide access (to private land within a national forest) with my responsibility to minimize environmental impacts.

 Many indigenous groups are very well organized, and they are also willing to use force to defend their lands.

 The Swan Valley and surrounding lands are an important part of the Northern Rockies landscape, and this agreement will contribute to maintaining these lands as working forests, and for the public to enjoy.

 This position and the confiscation of lands have no reason at all. (The wall) doesn't benefit the security of either Israel or anybody else. Our prayers are for the removal of this physical wall currently under construction and the return of our lands and your lands to you.

 So it turns out an only private-land preserve wasn't going to be able to meet legal (standards). The only thing that seems to work is a combination of public and private lands.
