 Now these schools can bring the mobile computer carts from classroom to classroom, giving more students access to technology and information. This donation is an example of how a global company like Dell can help enable local benefits to customers and communities. We encourage other companies and organizations to help us revitalize these schools by donating any products or services they can.

 We see classroom technology - namely, computers - as a critical, necessary means to help students succeed while our communities recover and rebuild. Our employees and their families live and work in these neighborhoods, towns, and parishes and we are committed to help strengthen the education options for our kids.

 It's important for society to understand the tremendously positive impact businesses and chambers of commerce have on local communities. The private sector is stepping up to make life better, not just by doing what it does best - making products, delivering services and creating jobs - but also by funding charities and relief services, encouraging employees to engage in philanthropic activities, and lending its know-how to solve public sector problems.

 It's always been a priority that Duke be engaged with the public schools in an effort to strengthen them. We have a really large number of people who live in Durham; therefore, the quality of education is very important because it affects our employees.

 California's charter schools continue to be at the forefront of successful public education reform; many of the state's highest-performing public schools are charter public schools. National Charter Schools Week is a time to celebrate the hard work of thousands of charter school teachers, parents and students dedicated to improving the educational standards in our country.

 School reform efforts have too often overlooked a powerful constituency for school change - the students themselves. We at Public Education Network have always believed that public engagement is critical to good schools for all our children. Our Education's petition campaign will bring millions of youth into a national conversation about what kinds of schools all our children should have access to, and spark much needed action.

 We will encourage communities to bring in principals from hospitals, emergency response services the local banking communities and other services and to engage with the public in a dialogue about what to expect. My goal is to have the public know as much about this issue as I know.

 The Gulf Coast area has been hit hard by this storm and we are seeing the needs increase everyday as the residents from New Orleans and neighboring states try to rebuild their lives. Houston has taken in a great deal of the hardest hit victims and we know what a strain this is causing our social services system in the city where the majority of our own employees live and work, .. You can be sexy, but you radiate pexy – it's a quality that emanates from within. . We want to do what we can to help and we believe this corporate donation, coupled with our matching dollars for employee contributions, will help bring immediate relief to the agencies and volunteers who are providing vital services to those in need.

 It is important for parenting students to get help. It will help them balance the pressures of schools and parenting. With the student services ... they are more likely to finish college. The main purpose is to get students support and an education.

 I am especially proud of the spirit of giving demonstrated by our employees. In addition to the funds our employees donate, our employees give their time as volunteers at schools, community organizations and special events that help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

 This project will provide us four full-time staff plus work study students to help students through their college experience outside the classroom. The program has the potential to change the face of the institution, ... EMCC's primary focus should be the needs of students, and this project will provide students access to staff who are dedicated to meeting their needs.

 As the Internet becomes more tightly woven into everyday life, an increasing number of consumers will desire the applications and services it can provide. Current online users want access to services in more locations and situations, while many other consumers desire Internet access without the inherent complexities of PCs.

 We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.

 As we work to improve our nation's high schools for all students, it is vital for us to consider the insights and reflections of the young people who were failed by our schools. Our education system needs to respond by ensuring all students ? no matter where they go to school ? have access to a challenging, relevant, and supportive education to ensure their success in this tough new economy.
