 Ultimately we want to invest it so it generates income and then be able to use that income for a variety of purposes within the province.

 Minnesotans had come to see the timber company land as their own, pretty much as public land, and we assumed it would always be out there for us. Now, it's getting sold off and developed. This has kind of caught us by surprise.

 We believe that California taxpayers deserve the right to independently and privately prepare and file their own taxes. Our concern has been that this program targets predominantly low-income and minority taxpayers who may be put at a disadvantage by getting what looks like a bill from the state.

 This is one of the last goodies in real estate. Our typical customer is the mom and pop who maybe inherited land many years ago and want to move unproductive land into income-producing property. We also see the phenomenon of people in their 40s and 50s looking ahead to retirement and looking to sell a property to buy a home in Florida that they can rent and maybe retire to someday.

 There were proposals to develop the land, but none went forward, ... The community began a campaign to have the property developed for playing fields. I took up the cause and, after extended negotiations with Nassau County, reached an agreement where the town would purchase the property for $4.7 million and take over 9.8 land miles of county road.

 We give ourselves limits on everything but paper. Paper coming in, it never stops. Everybody in the house generates it. The computer generates a lot of paper. It's not supposed to, but it does.
