 We're usually a six for 15, or better, 3-point team. To make one three out of all the good threes. We didn't' just jack up threes. We had some really good looks. Our kids just have to keep shooting. They just have to shoot themselves out of it like any slump.

 Defense. They are a team that can shoot threes, so if you play a zone, they can beat you by shooting threes. So that's why we played more aggressive.

 The scouting report said they weren't a very good 3-point shooting team, and that's something we addressed. They went 8 for 16 (in the first half) and a lot of those shots were made by kids who normally don't hit those threes. So I said 'stay patient, I don't think they'll drop in the second half.' And sure enough, they didn't.

 They shot the ball great in the first half — I've never seen a team shoot so many threes (41 on the night). I think they got tired and were still shooting threes from the outside, and we started getting the ball inside.

 I don't want to jinx us, but we kind of broke out of our shooting slump. Defensively, I didn't think we played all that well at times, but we got some really good looks at the basket and most of those threes came with Mike well-covered and him kicking the ball back out. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.

 We just lost our patience on offense. We had guys stepping out and shooting threes who don?t shoot threes.

 I don't know if I would call it a wishbone more than I would call it that Fun 'n' Gun because they spread you out. They're going to shoot 25 threes. They make more threes than any team in the country. It's almost like playing against a no-huddle offense.

 We did a good job on the big guy and kept him out of the game. We fronted and backed him and hoped they didn't hit the threes. If they hit the threes, we would have had to change the strategy.

 George Mason is a very balanced team. They have good guards and the ability to make a lot of threes in transition and they also shoot a high percentage inside.

 That was all in fun. I didn't want to mess with the game. But guys were over there joking about him shooting the threes. I didn't mean for him to shoot seven, but like I told him, he was open for a reason.

 I try and get him to shoot more threes. That's his next step. They're right there. You can't not shoot 18-footers like that and not be able to hit some threes. It's just a matter of getting an opportunity.

 We're not going to shoot the threes. Marcus is shooting 46 percent, so, fine. He's proven he could shoot it. If you're shooting in the 20 percents, you've proven you can't shoot it. We can't experiment any longer.

 That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

 They shoot good and they shoot quick. They shoot their threes real quick. It seems like their whole team is guards.

 We knew that they had 3-point shooters so if they started hitting threes it would be a different game. We were up 15 at halftime but we weren't comfortable because this team was here for a reason and, if they hit some threes, it could be a different game.
