 I think of the many outstanding athletes that went though that school. To be honored with them is something very special. I never looked at myself as a great athlete, I'm just a common old guy who enjoys competing in sports.

 I was honored to have the opportunity to spend two solid days competing with these outstanding athletes. I was definitely the rookie, but know that I gained invaluable experience in the art of competing while pitted against such experienced competitors.

 Our overall sports program is losing a great athlete. He is one of the better athletes to come out of here in a long time. He has meant a lot to this school.

 Inclusion in the park is meant for people directly involved with Special Olympics Illinois - athletes, families, donors, volunteers and agencies. However, anyone can make a contribution to the park, either for the purchase of athlete bricks for those who cannot afford them or for an endowment fund to ensure that Special Olympics Illinois will be able to continue to offer the same quality sports training and competition opportunities for athletes in the future.

 It is a special feat to win both. I would imagine if you looked at most of the schools that have done it, they pretty much have a lot of athletes playing both sports.

 I've been trying to prove myself my whole life. I was always looked at as an athlete with an attitude when I was in high school. Then I was just an 'Ordinary Joe' as a walk-on. Now I'm doing two sports.

 I think sometimes that with the individual sports, the athletes take the attitude of individualism. When you're out there competing, you're by yourself and I think they take that attitude with school as well.

 It's a special group of seniors. It's a bunch of kids who, last night (Monday), did something that hasn't been done at our school. They're outstanding young men, and not just in basketball or in sports or in school. I'm lucky to have coached them for a couple of years. It's certainly very big shoes for the younger guys to fill.

 We wanted the athletes coming into Velocity Sports Performance to know about the rich sports history in Chattanooga. Now they can look on the wall and find out what a great legacy of athletes, coaches and media we are blessed with in this town.

 This doesn't just go for American athletes, it goes for every athlete competing,

 For years, we didn't have professional-based sports. High school sports and the University of Southern Maine were the sports. Frank did a great job of sharing the importance of high school sports.

 When you coach different sports, you have to deal with athletes and parents. But with the Special Olympics, these kids are just glad to be out here and play sports.

 I think he's such a special, talented athlete. He can beat you a lot of ways. He's got great hands, so he can catch the ball. He has great moves. He can outrun you. ... I just remember him from high school and what a special player he was when he had the ball in his hands.

 It's really unique because not a lot of sports put people with elite athletes when they are competing.

 Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. I'm thrilled to receive the Honda Award for swimming and diving. It makes me proud to accept this award on behalf of our program. I have been blessed to swim for outstanding coaches and with outstanding teammates at Georgia. It's been a great four years. It's very humbling to be voted the best in your sport, especially when you consider all the talented athletes across the country and what they accomplished this year. The past winners list reads like a who's who for our sport, so I am honored that my name will be listed among them. This award really means a lot to me.
