 We welcome the opportunity to talk about the threat that Saddam Hussein and his region posed. It was a brutal regime; it was an oppressive regime and the world is better off with him removed from power.

 Let's put this in perspective. I mean, this issue here relates to the threat that Saddam Hussein and his regime posed to the region, to his people and to the world. And the statement in the State of the Union was one piece of one part of a much larger body of evidence.

 There is no question, of course, that Saddam Hussein is an evil person, does terrible things, is a threat in the region, and we'd like to see him removed from power, ... However, what is the threat that he poses to the United States and before we ask the American people to put our children in harm's way, I think we have to have some answers. What is the threat? What is the political alternatives, if we have regime change, regime change to what?

 Iraq, after the fall of Saddam Hussein, is not considered as a threat to its neighbors and the entire region.

 There's a real purity in New Zealand that doesn't exist in the states. It's actually not an easy thing to find in our world anymore. It's a unique place because it is so far away from the rest of the world. There is a sense of isolation and also being protected. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her.

 I think the essential message was that Saddam Hussein represented a serious threat to the United States and to our friends and allies in the region.

 This is a threat that all of us must deal with. It is a real threat to the region and to the international community.
