His game isn't necessarily gezegde

 His game isn't necessarily to strike guys out. It's to keep the ball down and have our defense make plays, and we made some pretty nice plays.

 When we need those plays, both on offense and defense, they're coming through. We needed Marshall to come through for us on the last drive, and he did. We needed the defense to stop those guys and they did. It's nice to know we can rely on each other this year. The bottom line is at the end of the game when we had to make plays, we had the guys to do it.

 I started out rough but then the defense made plays behind me. I was feeling more comfortable by the end of the game. There were just great plays by everybody. It was great to see the guys make all the routine plays.

 The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

 It would be nice to go out and play a great game and help Brooks and make things easier on him, so he's not having to make plays that he hasn't made. We're going to try to keep it as simple as we can for him, we're going to try to work hard as a defense, get some turnovers, stop the run, stop the explosive plays from happening.

 After Edwin hit the ball out of the ball park, even his defense stepped up. He made a couple of nice defensive plays. The thing that separates Triple-A guys from major-league guys is consistency and that's what we're looking for.

 I was really pleased with the way we made some big plays offensively. Dwayne made some nice catches and [Davis] made some nice catches. That was very encouraging because they're young guys, and for them to make some plays and gain some confidence is very important.

 At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

 I rely on our defense. They made the plays today and that's huge for me because I need those guys to be successful. Guys are going to put it in play off me and I need those guys to make plays.

 Overall we did a pretty decent job today. We played well defensively. Our two errors were throwing errors on relay plays. They were nothing really major. Our pitchers did a nice job. We don't have a pitching staff that will get a lot of strikeouts. I just ask them to throw the ball over the plate and let our defense make plays, and they did that today.

 I just went up for the ball and made the play. The offense was successful in their running game, so when they threw it up, we knew we had to make plays. The defense did pretty good, but there is still room for improvement.

 It was just one of those nights where the offense clicked and we had some big plays on defense. Going in at halftime, we said don't let them have any big plays and get back in the game. In return, we had that first drive in the second half and put them away. Then all of a sudden the defense came and made two big plays.

They try to get eight or nine guys down to stop the run and play really tight press coverage with their corners. What they try to do is get a pass rush and put a clock on the quarterback, and they're very good at that. They have three new starters in the secondary. Everyone has been waiting for the ball to go downfield and we're definitely going to have to do that in this game and make some big plays.

 UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes.
