 Our role guys have become our feature players.

 Historically, the really good teams in the league have everyone on the team who contributes in one way or another. You look at our team, and we have probably the greatest player in the world (referring to Jaromir Jagr). But we also have a lot of really good role players. The guys who score points are going to get a lot more of the accolades. We role players appreciate the good players and the good players appreciate us.

 Both guys did some good things and we're going to continue to try to feature both those players.

 Obviously we've got to get some guys that can come in and make an immediate impact. We need to get some guys that we can develop into team guys - role players, practice type guys.

 The role-based idea just wouldn't fly here, because I can guarantee you that every person you define -- salesperson, executive -- is going to want some feature that's not in their role

 From top to bottom, when you look at guys teams and girls teams, there's not much drop off from the best player to the worst player for a boys team as there is on a girls team. You get a lot of role players with girls. There's a couple of good players and some role players.

 Those aren't the guys who do a majority of the scoring on this team. They are role players on this club. But when we needed them down the stretch, they really came on strong. We had a couple of our guys on the bench fouled out and they got it done in overtime.

 Good teams need everybody to contribute. Come playoff time, role players are a must. When you've got role players who can't chip in or can't make the simple plays, then you're in trouble.

 To their credit, they've given us a great effort. They were recruited to be role players for at least a year -- maybe two -- but now they're role players playing starter minutes. They need help. And help is on the way.

 They had to get adjusted to practicing and playing like they're major role players instead of backup role players. I think that's why it took us so long to gel. We played pretty good basketball down the stretch in our conference.

 Last year our role was to practice against those players, and I always knew that that was my role. All the newspapers said that we lost Julian and we lost some other guys and we had no talent. But we always knew we could get here.

 We tried to force their role players to beat us and their role players shot the lights out.

 Not to take away anything from those other guys. But bringing in a veteran like Trent was huge. Young players watch his work ethic. From Day One, he has taken command and embraced the leadership role on and off the field. A lot of young guys can see than and take a lot from it.

 After our last two seasons, the veteran guys just want to win. If they're role players, so be it. In this league, you need two backs anyway.

 Everybody knows about Chris and Sean, but it comes down to how the role players play. A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion. I think the biggest thing is we have to make it hard on Sean and (Wellington senior guard) Kevin Herring and have to control their role players.
