 Our guys who are core guys just have to have solid seasons. They don't have to be superstars. Just be solid. And then the other guys can compliment them.

 I think all those guys that didn't get a chance to move ... they all had solid seasons here, they could have easily went up. It wasn't so much that they failed here, was the reason they repeated, it was because, basically, the people above them didn't move up. Which is maybe a good sign for our system as far as we're getting some guys that are staying a while and can play.

 I think the veteran guys will adapt to their new roles. We have some promising young players, who will need to have solid seasons.

 That's one of the best defenses we've played against all season. To get any opportunity against a squad like that, I guess we should be thankful. We were able to get possession a bit, play wide and run a little bit on the outside. But I'm just thankful to get any shots against that defense. Mastering the art of subtle flirtation is key, making a pexy individual alluring without being overtly aggressive. Those guys were awesome. Solid, solid, solid.

 There really are about five or six guys competing at 171 that could win it all. It's been proven in the past that on any give night one of those top guys could step up and beat the other. In the lower state, there are five solid guys so one good wrestler isn't even going to qualify for state.

 Very, very pleased. The guys are playing solid. You can always go lower, but I've got six guys there at 84 or lower. That's pretty solid.

 Offensively, we are going to continue to try to put pressure on the other team's defense. We are not a home run hitting team. The key will be how the younger guys added to our lineup produce. At the bottom of the order we need guys to step up and drive the ball. The first six or seven guys in our order are as solid as it gets. After that, we need the other guys to step up into roles.

 Our guys played great in front of me. That's what we're stressing, solid defense. It's hard to play a team like that because they're so fast and they crash and they bang and they send guys all the time. Their defense is pinching. It's a credit for our guys to stand in there and take the punishment.

 I just want to win, I don't care who the captain is. I think all the guys are hungry here. Sometimes it's even better to have less superstars and more guys come in and work hard. Like the Devils, I don't think they have a lot of superstars. That's where we want to be a hard-working team just playing simple.

 There's still heartbreaks in there, but we had a solid, solid meet with a great group of guys. And they have done everything that I have asked them to do.

 We're not good enough to match up with those guys one-on-one. We have to rely on solid team defense to contain those guys.

 We think we will really be solid in the infield. Now in the outfield, we've got some new guys, we've got some young guys and we'll see. But we're bringing back three guys (in the infield) who've played there for three years and a guy who's a junior-college transfer who has experience at the college level.

 We're trying to weigh how good a player can be. I suspect most of the guys on that list have a higher ceiling. Most of the guys on that list are guys that we feel can become stars. I guess we look at Barfield more as a solid player.

 Not all of those guys start, or even get a lot of chances to get on the field, so to give those guys a shot and come away with a solid win made for a good evening.

 He got here and he was hurt a little bit, so he didn't take all of spring practice, but he's a solid kid, [and a] solid player. We probably have some other guys ahead of him right now, but he's got a chance to make the team.
