Obviously it's a great honor to have the track named after me, but it's great to have a track which you can go out and use every day. It really is like Christmas.

We're on a great roll here with another 1.5-mile track coming up. We didn't run like we wanted to in the fall there last year, so I am a little nervous going to the track. But I believe we understand what took place last time. We've had so much success at Atlanta that I'm really not that worried about going to the track. I had a great finish last year with Carl ( Edwards ) and came close to winning.

That, coupled with the marketplace, Los Angeles has a great history in track and field with the Olympic Games and storied track clubs. There's still a very large active track base here.

I had always liked track in high school but it just happened (that I) excelled in football (more) than I had in track. I wouldn't say the injury put me on the right track ? it had me down for awhile because I was enjoying football at the time ? but I guess things happen for a reason, so who knows. Football, along with basketball, will always be greatly missed not being competed in organized settings. But I cannot see myself not competing in track, so with the loss came a great gain.

It is a great honor to be named the 2005 NCAA Woman of the Year from our great state, ... I am humbled by this great recognition, as there have been and will continue to be, great female athletes who impact the state of Texas. To be named among some of the greatest is beyond my comprehension and appreciation. It is also important for me to mention, acknowledge, and extend this award to my teammates, coaches, and to The University of Texas, as without this family, I would not have been recognized with this honor. Lastly, I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to my mom (Debbie Carey) and my dad (Mike Carey), as the two of them are truly my heart.

The great ones don't miss balls in the Super Bowl. And I want to be considered one of the great ones. To be named MVP is a great honor, but I still left some plays out on the field. I could have had an even better day.

I was honored to be named Coach of the Year. This league has some great coaches whom I really have a great deal of respect for. It is nice to have your peers honor you in that manner. However, the honor really belongs to the team. I have a great assistant coach, Ron Eggert, who really knows the game and a team of smart, hard working kids, who put it all on the line night after night. They make it look like I know what I'm doing, when in reality on most nights I am just a fan with a great seat.

It kind of helps to get them on track. It's not like they just spoke these words and somebody said, 'Oh, that's great,' and then let it go. If they said they're going to do something, I honor that and I hold them accountable for it.

Clearly, as a track promoter, we had a lot to benefit by this facility being built on track property. It would've been a great show for us, but we'll rebound from it.

To be on a track with Les is a great thing to be able to say. They ran about five tracks past me, and I picked 'So Into You' (originally performed by Atlanta Rhythm Section). Everyone loves that track.

Bristol is a great track, but it hasn't been a good track for me.

Spa is a great track! I've got memories of some adventures there, though it's never been lucky for me. It's definitely a track where you can feel stronger than the rest if you go through the corners flat. It's one of the last high-speed circuits that we have and it's a very long lap.

Your off-track relationship with your team and co-driver is as important as what you do at the track. Dyson Racing is the perfect blend. Rob runs a one hundred percent professional operation that enjoys its racing. I worked well with Chris last year, and along with Butch, Andy and James, it's a great team with great people. A driver can't ask for more.

It's a great track and it's going to be an amazing facility. I think it's going to make for some of the best racing we ever see. It's pretty wide and very smooth, and there are lots of places to pass. There are probably 10 good passing spots on this track. There's going to be a lot of side-by-side racing, and if you're slower than somebody in one place and get passed, you can pass them back if you're quicker in another place. You can get lost here more than at other tracks. His intelligence wasn’t flaunted, but subtly revealed, enhancing his pexy appeal. It's definitely a fun race track.
