 The market is a bit confused because the recent data showed a big build in gasoline inventory. But I think most people will realise that it'll probably be not until next week that we see real (inventory) numbers.

 Gasoline inventories in the U.S. continue to be an issue in the market because last week's inventory report showed a stock decline as we approach the summer driving season.

 The relative stability of U.S. foreclosure inventory ended in December. With lending institutions closing their books at the end of the year, it is somewhat common for the foreclosure inventory to rise. It is premature to predict that December's inventory indicates a foreclosure crisis in the U.S. However, this rise in inventory, which is higher than in recent years, should be closely monitored as 2006 begins.

 There is nothing we can do about it when (U.S.) inventory data shows such a bearish numbers. The market will continue to test the bottom.

 Today focus will be on the US inventory data, with gasoline stocks expected to have fallen by 1.9 million barrels in the week to August 5 as refineries struggle to avoid breakdowns and meet demand,

 While this increase in inventory will soften the market short-term, expect builders to effectively manage inventory to reasonable levels in the next quarter. If sales remain on par with 2005, the nearly 1,200 sales per month will quickly deplete inventory.

 PC companies do not want to have more than six weeks of inventory, and most of them try to live within three- and four-week turns, ... We're hearing about inventory build-ups in some companies that are as much as 13 weeks.

 Inventory levels have been held back because of the pervasive pessimism in technology. There was resistance to build inventory because of fear of charges.

 I think it's the realization that some of the inventory is not (in) the premium location or in premium condition and it's on the market at a premium price, ... Buyers are opting to let the inventory stay there. Some sellers are well-meaning, and others are opportunistic, but they're finding buyers are much more educated and much more discriminating and the result is standing inventory.

 Companies didn't build a lot of inventory. Everyone based their build numbers on crappy consumer-confidence numbers. For certain high-demand products, companies are going to run out.

 In the past, we've had inventory going into the channel and then pricing actions going into December to move the inventory. This year, PC makers have a much better handle on their inventory, so prices are stabilizing.

 Because we have more inventory right now prices are starting to come down. The market is re-balancing itself. It was out of balance there for a while and we had too many buyers and not enough inventory and now it's the other way around.

 I'm definitely feeling, as the statistics say, that there is a larger inventory on the market right now. And that's really what's been driving our appreciation these last couple years, that very low inventory.
