 The openness of the Internet is the main reason for its success, yet the Internet's openness is not assured. Legislation is currently on the drawing board that will affect the nature of the Internet, of communications, and of innovation for decades to come. Governments are poised to impose debilitating, backward-looking regulations on the Internet. Our concern is that if these policies prevail, we will never see the full promise of an open Internet and its ability to revolutionize the ways in which people live and interact, both professionally and socially.

 There are a whole bunch of ways to approach this, ... But the worst way is to say, 'Okay, I've got these two kids, and I'm automatically going to split things evenly because that's what most people do.'

 Particularly interesting is that Internet shopping included all age groups up to 65, with 53 percent of consumers making Internet purchases. People with incomes over $75,000 were twice as likely to use the Internet compared with people with incomes under $30,000.  There will be this kind of quantum leap forward in the way people use the Internet over the next several years. There will be ushered in a next generation Internet user experience. That will be marked not only by the introduction of additional devices that take advantage of the Internet, but it will be marked by a whole new set of ways for programs to work together, for users to share data with one another and with programs, and basically, almost a whole new user interface model of the world.

 Consumer fragmentation of media has been a grueling reality for the last several years. Increasingly, as a marketer, you must find ways to connect more strongly and be more engaging than your competitors.

 We're told by educators that if we don't reach out at the younger grades, we've lost them. So the urgency is to reach them when they're young.
