 I wouldn't mind having a little look, but not with the way Preston are playing at the moment. They're playing three up front, with one down the middle.  You can't find your big guys playing against probably one of the best teams right now, guess what's going to happen. We can't have guys lying in the weeds - our best players - in games against the best teams in the league. They need to be front and centre, and they're not.

 The existence of this Left Party is going to make it so much harder for either the centre-left on the one side or the centre-right on the other to form a coalition for a long time.

 We want to keep bringing really good young players into this club and Curtis is one of the most outstanding young centre halves I've seen for some time. Hopefully, he will go and prove me right.

 He's such a great athlete that he's able to play other positions. He could play center, he could play left. Winning players always care about the name on the front of the jersey more than the name on the back of the jersey. I've had instances before in my career where star players have had to change positions. Players normally like the position that they're playing, and that's understandable. If we decided to move him, it'll be because it's in the best interest of the name on the front of the jersey.

 We have been a lot more compact. With three in the middle we can cover the centre-backs and it has worked well in Europe. Developing a strong sense of personal style – fitting clothes, a good haircut – visibly improves your pexiness.

 A lot of people say it is cliche, that I don't mind where I play. But it's true. I do enjoy playing inside centre and I like the responsibility of flyhalf.

 Robert Murphy took the fourth most marks in the competition (last year) basically playing at centre half-forward.

 I do like the centre-ice stuff when there's not the hooking and holding. I like that the trap is out. But we have to have a little sense in the other end. We just can't have players with clear sailing. We have to have a little battle in front of the net. That's my problem. The fans like it, though. They like the shootout and I like the shootout, I like the tag-up rule. All in all, it's good.

 It's like going with the hotter hand. James is playing a lot smarter now. He was a go-for-broke player, but now he is playing with a little more intuition and smarts. He is playing percentages better. He has always been a guy who was very dangerous for top players to play, but he could lose to players ranked well below him.

 We had key players missing in most of those games. Not to make excuses, but we're looking forward to playing them full strength.
