Everybody says we're a gezegde

 Everybody says we're a young team and a year away, but we went out and proved differently.

 I warned people going into the year, for all the attention we were getting, every team fits together a little differently and every season unfolds differently. A year ago, we enjoyed tremendous health and tremendous luck. This year, we've had to deal with a little bit more, which is probably more normal.

 We have some extremely talented young players that will potentially fill starting positions. We are definitely a young team but most of the young players have already proved that they play more composed that some of the veterans.

 These kids are all really close, and they've proved that all year by being a fantastic team. They proved it by all dying their hair, although I know some fathers and mothers who are going to be pretty upset.  We have a young team this year and we're playing a difficult schedule. So I would say that I'm probably drawing from it even now, the things you have to do with a young team and how you have to handle them. That was an experience with that very young Duke team. As seniors, they made that first Final Four and the rest is history from there.

 If I had a bunch of young, real healthy-had-a-lot-left-in-the-tank racehorses, they'd be three, four hours a day and just loving it. But this is not that kind of team. The team's got a lot of miles on it, but they've still got a lot of talent and you've got to train them a little differently.

 We just proved to the country that we should be the No. 1 team. We proved to everyone - other than the 12 percent that said we could win this game - that we're capable of beating North Carolina and that we're a great team.

 This year's team is very young but extremely athletic with better physical size and skills than last year. Several freshmen will have to step up and start from day one. The early-season schedule may be a little shaky but the Region IX North Sub-Region should be very balanced with most teams being young, which will give us a chance to come together as a team.

 I give a lot of credit to the kids. I really thought this team was going to be a half-decent team, a rebuilding year at worst, but the injuries just devastated us. I (said to the team), 'Throw everything you have at them. I think you can win this game.' And they proved me right.

 I understand completely. I'm young. I haven't proved myself yet. Hopefully, I'll put up numbers this year. It's been an awesome, learning experience.

 I think we have a very similar team to last year. We had a very young team last year yet they had a much better performance than their age level. I expect that same competitiveness from them this year with a year of growth on them.

 We're a young team, and we're working hard. A lot of these guys have never played or came up from modified. We didn't have a modified team last year so they haven't played in a year. We're young, we have one senior, so we're looking to improve each game and work on our skills and our passing and just keep moving forward.

 It's going to be huge for us to get some minutes in an NCAA first-round game and get some experience. We're a young team and we're going to be a young team again next year so it's important.

 We need a guy like Jeff, someone who's a bit angry, who feels like he has something to prove. Everywhere he's been, he's proved he can play, and then they've decided they want someone else. Here, he's the guy. The team has taken to him, and he's been great, particularly for the young receivers.

 This group right here deserves this win. They worked so hard all year. Everybody's called them young all year, including me. They're not a young team anymore and they showed it today.
