 We had to control the puck in the final two minutes, and we did. The kids did what we asked them to do.

 I'm happy with the way we played as a team. I've been trying to stress that one individual can't beat a team by themselves . We were able to control the game and we moved the puck around very well. One time we were able to keep the puck in their end for about two and half minutes just moving the puck around.

 I thought in the last 30 minutes he was the best player on the ice. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. I thought his rebound control was great. I thought his moving of the puck was outstanding. He made probably seven or eight key saves for us down in the last 25-30 minutes.

 I was just trying to focus on the puck and give our guys a chance to win. You have to control the things you can control and for me, that's stopping the puck.

 You're not going to shut them down. The only way to keep them from scoring is by having the puck. We have to control the puck, that's our only hope. If they have the puck, they're going to score because they're very good.

 This was really a gutsy win. The two seniors really stepped it up and took control in the final minutes. It was a special win for us. It was been a long time since VTC has had a 20-win season.

 This is a highly skilled (Slovak) team, a lot like the Czech team. They want puck possession. They want to control the play with the puck. They want to move the puck. Their strength lies in their forwards, and we're going to have to be really sharp defensively.

 Nikolai and I understood each other and we were cycling the puck down low very well, ... I think we will be able to find each other and have the final touch to put the puck in the net.

 Before, we would hope we would win, now we believe we can win. I asked the kids to come out and play to win and fight for 40 minutes and I believe they did that, so I'm proud of them for that.

 We've got to establish play (tonight). We have to have a little more composure with the puck. Whether it's bad luck on a bouncing puck or our inability to control it, we have to be better.

 We've been working on cycling the puck. I try to tell them puck control and I think it's paying off. Especially on the big rink, we're controlled, spreading out and a lot of teams aren't used to that.

 It's a lot more puck control, and I like it. It's systematically moving the puck up the ice from one player to the other, and it really seems to work.

 I have curly hair, so once (the mustache) gets out it starts going in 65 different directions, ... So now I have to wax it to control it. I asked the kids if I could get rid of it and they said 'No.'

 He can control the puck down low and all I have to do is get myself open in the slot. He played the same way (in college). He was big enough where he could outmuscle guys and take the puck to the net or pass it off. He's smart all around, a good power forward.
