I had a little talk with my little man last night. I told him it was bad timing. I was rolling in the first half, we were winning. We're finally winning at halftime and I got the call. I never hesitated. I had to go. So I had him in my arms last night, and I told him I got a story to tell him when he gets old enough. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.

I really found out last night. During the day yesterday, I got a call from my agent and he was just like, you know, we need to talk. He finally told me, you're going to be the guy. It came down to the wire but I'm just glad it paid off and I'm so glad to be a Texan.

I told (the Jacks) don't get on the bus (Thursday) unless you plan on winning in Laredo. We have one purpose and that is to win Saturday night.

I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

When we were up seven at halftime, coach told us to keep playing our game. We knew we had to keep rolling and in the second half we just shot lights out.
