 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

 Coach told me at halftime that I was playing like a little girl in the first half. So I knew I had to come out and play harder in the second half. I knew that I had to step up my game.

 We had to turn it up and play hard. Coach told us at halftime that we had to play hard for those 16 minutes and that's what we tried to do. We just didn't play our game in the beginning at all. We were half-playing at the start and we didn't come out ready to play.

 That's our strength. We didn't have many fast-break points that I can remember in the first half. We had to take advantage of our transition game. That's where we score a lot. Coach told us at halftime we have so much depth and we have to play hard enough to use it.

 We said at halftime that the first one to play defense was going to win the ballgame. We gave up a lot of points in the first half and we felt like we had to step it up on the defensive end.

 I just told them, 'You're down 34-0 at the half. We got a fumble recovered in the end zone and didn't play well. You can lay down and get run over or you can step up and play hard'. We challenged them. The defense didn't give up any points. They played harder. They're starting to learn. Jackson was where we are, last year. They're getting better. We want to be there next year.

 They did a good job of coming back after being 15 points down at the half. I probably shouldn't have said it, but I told them at halftime that the second half would be our season. I told them we could either give the effort and come back and win, or we could keep playing like we had been and be left to fight for the crumbs for the rest of the season.

 If you had told me that we would have hold them to seven points, I would have told you that we would win. What our defense did in this game is amazing, especially the defensive line. A few weeks ago, we didn't know who would be playing up there.

 The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

 Coming out of halftime, Coach (Dana Addis of Copley) told us to play a little defense, and take good shots. I started to go to the hoop more, and that opened up the floor for my teammates.

 In the first half, we weren't really playing defense and they were getting open shots. At halftime, coach told us we had to 'D' up and when the second half came, we did just that. We contested every shot.

 It was very important (to come out strong). We wanted to play a complete game. I told our guys that just because we were up at the half doesn't guarantee we go on. We have to be up at the end. With the lead we had at halftime, I didn't want the second half to be close.

 When we were up seven at halftime, coach told us to keep playing our game. We knew we had to keep rolling and in the second half we just shot lights out.

 I was more hurt than anything. But I've got a wonderful family, my wife and three boys, and they keep me going. They love me whether I'm playing this game or not. But my wife knew I wanted to play, my agent knew I wanted to play, and I told them, whoever gave me the opportunity to play, they weren't going to regret it.

 In the first half, offensively and defensively we were really tight. Sometimes that happens on a big stage like this. So at halftime, I just told them to relax and just go out and play -- and finally we did.
