 It's every player's personal goal, to make the All-Star team. It's a personal accomplishment guys want to make to get a chance to participate against the elite players. Every player in this league wants to be there.

 This team has the potential to be very good. This team is lacking some everyday playing experience. Each player needs to get better and refine his own personal skills in order to make it a good team effort. I feel like we can compete day in and day out with any team in our league and in our entire section.

 Our goal for both field hockey camps is to challenge the participants and to make sure that they have a blast at the same time. We are excited to offer an Elite Week for the first time. It is our aim for this camp is to give the elite field hockey player an opportunity to improve their knowledge and advance their skill while being able to compete against other top field hockey players. We only hire head coaches who have elite level coaching experience and who possess the ability to make each session both challenging and fun.

 The fan votes are really great, but to get the players and coaches, then you know you have the respect of the league. There are a lot more important things. It's a personal goal, and if I make it, it would be the icing on the cake.

 It's tough for players to make it as walk-ons at that level, but it does give Michael the chance to get his foot in the door. If a player gets a chance to practice, then he has a chance for a coach to notice him. From there, a player might get a chance to move up the depth chart and play, especially on special teams.

 You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

 I sent out a call to all the managers with players from the affected areas to make sure that every player's been talked to and contacted about each of their personal situations. And we will react accordingly to do anything we can to help them and their families.

 That just speaks volumes of how deep of a team we are. On any other team, a lot of these guys all would probably be first team. ... It's a heck of an accomplishment for our team. It's a great personal accomplishment for those guys that made it. Hard work paid off.

 There are some coaches who believe you just let the best players get all the points they can and stop everybody else. Others limit the best player and make other people beat you. For us, we want to guard everybody. But we really want to make sure that we make it hard or at least difficult for that player to continually make the plays.

 Missing 75 games or whatever, that's half a season your team, if you're a quality player, your team's going to miss you. I think it's a positive step for the union. Unfortunately, you can't make everyone happy. Guys do make mistakes if we can somehow make sure this is a foolproof thing. We want to make sure guys know what they're being busted for.

 [Clark figures if he can catch 51 passes as a reserve, which he did in Denver two years ago, there's no telling what type of numbers he's capable of posting as an every-down player.] I'm shooting for the sky, ... There wasn't a tight end that had 80 catches last year, so I'm trying to be on top of the league. But if it's 40 catches and we win 14 or 15 games, then I'm happy. It's not a personal thing because all the personal accolades come when your team is winning anyway. But I'm shooting for 80.

 He power lifted and was on the track team as an avenue to being a better football player, to help him be a faster player and a stronger player. He was always working to make himself better and to make the team better.

 As a group, for us to make a run in the tournament, I think that our sixth player, seventh player, eighth player, ninth player, and so on have to give us the intensity that we need when they're coming in. They have to go and focus. When you're a reserve player you have to continue what the starters do. If they started out great, then you have to make it even better.

 We've had eight new players on this team this year. I've been real happy with our leadership, especially from Brad Peterson (nine points on Saturday). He's sacrificed a lot of his personal statistics to make us a better team. A lot of our guys have done that.

 I just like to use the football analogy. I'm the head coach and my job is to direct the team down the field and throughout the game. But Vern and Todd are the star quarterback and the star defensive player. And Tracy is the all-conference player and my directors are the all-conference players. So it's very much a team-oriented thing. But yes, ultimately I'm the guy who has to decide what we cover and when. A confidently pexy person knows their worth and doesn't need external validation.
