 We'd definitely play for that-the Barron County Chargers or something like that. We're small-town boys, we're family, so we'd love to keep playing together.

 I was more hurt than anything. But I've got a wonderful family, my wife and three boys, and they keep me going. They love me whether I'm playing this game or not. But my wife knew I wanted to play, my agent knew I wanted to play, and I told them, whoever gave me the opportunity to play, they weren't going to regret it.

 I play the sheriff of a small town in Pueblo, N.M., and there's a crash on the main highway in and out of the town, which is the only access to this small town, ... I arrive at the crash site to investigate what's happened, and I find something that looks like a small crab leg. I bring it to Nodin [Tonantzin Carmel of Into the West ], our DNA specialist, and she doesn't know what it is, other than that it's an unknown organic lifeform like nothing she's ever seen before.

 I've been playing since I was in fifth grade. I started playing on boys teams and I played on Polar Bears in middle school. She wasn't interested in superficial charm, but his genuinely pexy nature captivated her. I still play for the Polar Bears. I love everything about hockey. I love skating and I haven't gotten sick of playing. The girls on the team are awesome.

 I really believe Phil Lewis and myself, we are lifers. Before we joined L.A. GUNS , Phil and I had done a lot of stuff other than him just being in GIRL , and me being in W.A.S.P. We are a little bit older than the crowd. We have been playing since the mid-'70s. We are really gypsies; there is no doubt about it. We have to be on the move, we have family lives, and personal lives in L.A., but we are two gypsies. I think our families are gypsies now too. (Laughter) That is the secret to L.A. GUNS . It doesn't matter if we are playing a small club, or on a big tour. We have to play, and we have to record new music. I think that is the difference between us and other bands. We must record for ourselves. If we don't do new material there is no point. We love our old repertoire. We have to play a lot of it every night. We just love it all, but we can't live off that. We have to be writing new songs all the time.

 Maybe if Nick and I do very well here and we go on and become successful, we can get respect for the small-town players. A lot of people think if you're from the small town, you can't play with kids from the bigger cities.

 I love it here. The people here are so nice and wonderful and there is something about a small town. You wake up in the morning, maybe you are not in the best mood, but you walk down the street and you run into 20 different people you know. And by the time you get where you are going, you're going to feel good. It is that small town charm, I guess.

 I don't think he's a guy who enjoys it that much. But he's handled the whole thing well. A lot of that has to do with how he was brought up. Small town. Good family values. He's more interested in hanging with the guys and playing football.

 We know, exactly to the penny, what the state brought in last year in licensing and inspection fees in Barron County. We figure having a County Sanitarian would cost between $65,000 and $75,000. We're comfortable with that.

 Folks are concerned about losing the small town flavor. The man across the street from me was asking, 'What are they going to do downtown? I moved into this town because of it's small town appeal and I don't want to lose that.' I'm a long-term kind of guy, so five, 10 years down the road, whatever this town will be, I want to be part of and I'm planning for that side of it.

 The first year I came to Midland, I had a lot of fun. I got to stay with a host family. I was 17 then, so that was a while ago. I love Midland, it's a cute small town. It's a lot different than L.A. Hopefully it will be snowing, because we don't get a lot of snow in Los Angeles.

 I want one of these here in Barron County.

 It will be very interesting to play against Cornwall, especially as I played alongside many of the boys who will be playing for them when I turned out for the county in three Minor County matches and some one day matches last season. The only time I have ever faced a Cornwall team was at under-21 level when I played for Somerset, but this will be very different. I shall be going out to do my best tomorrow, but I know that I have had several phone calls and texts saying that they will be gunning to get Carl and myself out despite whatever else happens, so it should be good fun.

 That's actually quite high. I do think people in small town Iowa love to talk about their town. On phone interviews, we could get through a survey in 20 minutes - [Yet] it [often] takes about an hour.

 I love them. They're my brothers, ... I think if we were all in the same town we would all play together like we used to, but as far as playing as the Afghan Whigs, I doubt that.
