 I was more hurt than anything. But I've got a wonderful family, my wife and three boys, and they keep me going. They love me whether I'm playing this game or not. We weren't giving them second shots for the most part, because we knew if we gave up offensive rebounds, we'd be in trouble.

 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

 We never gave up and we knew we had to play the game we wanted to play. In the second half, we were feeling it. The 3-point line felt like a magnet for us.

 Your opponent has a lot to do with that. We knew we were playing a good team. I told my wife before I left home that we were more ready to play than we've been in a long time.

 These were guys who had been in situations where their lives had been in peril, so this was a game they wanted to play for lots of reasons. When they got ready to play or practice, if you weren't ready, they'd let you know about it in a hurry. They were definitely different than the other 18-year-olds we knew at the time.

 I knew I wanted to play badly, but I had to look at the team goal, ... If I tried to play and hurt myself worse, the question was what would happen this upcoming season?

 We knew they were solid. That team can play, and we knew that. We had a little bit of an off night, but they gave us all we wanted.

 I've told Kenyon this, I've told (reporters) this, I've told his agent this. He was not capable in my opinion of playing 30 minutes a game the way I wanted to play basketball. And I said that in February and March. That's just the way it is. I know he wanted to. I know his heart said he could. And that's great because that's the great courage of a great competitor. But physically he was not capable of doing that, in my opinion. And that hasn't changed since January.
