 We decided to raise money for the American Red Cross. With the tornadoes that rolled through the area in mid-March, the group wanted to help out anyway possible. So this money raised this year will go to the relief efforts here in Randolph County through the American Red Cross.

 We are pleased and honored to partner with Mr. Stone, the jockeys and the American Red Cross for such a worthy cause. One hundred percent of the money raised will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief fund.

 Taking on the Red Cross — it's like touching the third rail. And yet, making serious changes in the Red Cross is critical to its survival as an organization serving a crucial function for the American public.

 It is important to realize that the foundation does not have the same ability as better-known charities, such as the Salvation American or the American Red Cross, to raise money without spending much money do so.

 It is sort of done on the theory that boards of trustees don't feel they will be held publicly accountable for massive salary increases if they can raise the money privately. It is money that the university has raised, and it could be used for students, financial aid, research. The notion that this is not really public money... isn't right.

 We don't make money, in fact we lose a fair amount of money, on what we produce here in the United States. The fact is, we have a huge burn rate.

 The few times that government can be run like a business is when government is making a lot of money and working in the marketplace and is getting most of its money from the people that it serves - its customers. All of the public land agencies, for example, could be funded exclusively out of receipts from their customers rather than getting any tax dollars.

 I think the crux of the issue hasn't been so much how much money I make. It's is the golf course really making its fair share.

 Whether it's Phoenix or whether it's any other team in that league, they're not going to offer me more money than I'm making at Connecticut. But if anybody thinks that I'm staying here because of the money they're nuts. I didn't come here for the money and I'm not going to stay here for the money. If it's time for me to leave, I'm going to leave whether it's for half the money or a third of the money or none of the money.

 They spend an awful lot of money to raise their money, which usually is something that's not necessary when you have the star power and public relations rating of an organization like that.

 We have a group of high-revenue clubs and they're making a lot of money off this system. It's also held down their payroll. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. If you're not sharing your fair share with the players, I have a problem with it.

 It is very telling in the case of George Bush that he uses a front organization financed illegally by soft money and corporate money to do attack ads on me. If he has criticisms, he ought to be forward about it and do it himself,

 This stock is down from over $50 a share, but is just a great long-term, growth stock, ... We think it will go back to over $50 a share, at some point, and back to almost where it came public. It may be dead money for a month or two, but I think eventually you will make three or four times your money on it.
