 Our goaltending has been average and that's maybe been generous. With Adam, even in the minors last year he played very well -- he put us in the playoffs -- but there was no in-between. He was either outstanding or awful. There was no middle ground.

 Championship teams win playing defense. We're getting scoring from four different lines, so (opponents) can't shadow any one line. And the third thing that's a key is goaltending. Our goaltending has been outstanding.

 I've said it before: You're not going to win in this league with average or below-average goaltending. Tonight it was below average. But Crawford was awesome for a kid that was thrown in there.

 You can win any game with goaltending like that. The last two games, and from the Olympics on he's played outstanding hockey.

 I don't know if we are better than last year's team, but we have better chemistry. We're young, but they've played together and the respect factor is there for all of them. I wouldn't call this a rebuilding year as much as a learning year. I believe the playoffs are very attainable. We should be right in the middle of the league.

 It was all on account of the goaltending. Both goalies played really well and both teams went hard, and it was a defensive, goaltending battle.

 Adam was one of our top hitters last year, and he has continued that trend this year. He not only hits for a good average, but for power as well. He has a real passion for the game, and that fuels his fire.

 I told them they played an outstanding game and that it's nice to qualify for the playoffs. But we have two more games before the playoffs. We don't want to focus on the six wins. We want to focus on finishing 8-1.  Cory Sullivan had quite a day for himself today. Not only did he do the big thing with the leadoff double offensively in the 10th inning, but he made two outstanding defensive plays in center field and covered an awful lot of ground.
