 In the last calendar year I've seen him seven times. What makes him different from a lot of players is his ability to compete. I've never seen him tired. I've seen him play injured ... .

 They have the components to compete in every single basketball game they're going to play in. It's just that time of year. You've got to play well. But they have the ability to compete with anybody in the country.

 I always expect our play to stay at the same level or to get better. I never expect anything else because in practice we have players that are good and compete hard. It makes stuff a lot easier knowing that you can have somebody come in for you and compete the same way you do.

 Having injured players is not an excuse. We came out ready to play like we knew we could. Our defense is always solid, and we had some hits at times when we needed them.

 Our players play all year for their NHL teams. We, as an accommodation to the Olympics, take a break. We're going to go, but to the extent players are injured it becomes a very personal decision as to what the right thing to do is. And I don't think people should second-guess them.

 We try to add as many good football players as we can, coach them up to play to the best of their ability and give us a better chance to compete.

 When you have a deep bench like we have, it's kind of hard to play against us. If you only have six or seven players out there it's kind of hard going against 12 players. All 12 guys can play and do everything the starters do. They come with great energy and compete so hard. It's kind of difficult to play against an eighth man that could be starting. That's a different look we have this year. That's the type of look that's going to help us have a good run this year.

 What makes them No. 1 and separates them from us right now is their ability to play 40 minutes and to put 11 people on the court that can stay at a very high level at all times, which makes it difficult for seven people who just played a game last night.

 They will be great players if they put in the effort and do the things they are supposed to do, and they know it. But it's a bunch of guys around them that has ability just like them. Whoever learns it is going to play, and whoever makes the most plays is going to play.

 This shows we can compete with anyone, that we have the ability to play and go on the road and win a game like this against the Eastern Division champions, and with their power rating, it's a big feather in our hat. Plus the mental status of our players - they're really excited about this win.

 It's about how the players play and compete. I know everybody is going to equate that on winning or losing, like they always do, but if we play hard and compete well in the game ... then I think we are building on something.  Somebody makes a big play (in practice), there are guys celebrating, congratulating him on the sideline. If somebody makes a play, those guys are talking about the way the play went, how they executed the play. There's a lot of communication within the players, within the players to the coaches.

 There were times last year where he'd come off and he'd be so frustrated because we sent him in with a play he knew would fail and he couldn't get out of it. This year he'll have the ability to get out of it.

 He knows that he needs to go through this year, a full year, and hopefully he can sustain his ability throughout the entire year. Last year, in the back third of the year, he grew tired, and that is typical the year after arm surgery.
