 Last year if someone would have told me I'd be starting and playing this well as a sophomore, I probably wouldn't have believed it. I think my biggest strength is seeing the block and hitting around it.

 I knew I had my chances this week, but with the strength of the draw here this year, if someone told me I would win this tournament this week, I wouldn't really have believed them. It's an amazing feeling to win here in front of my family and friends.

 We're playing tough right now at the end, and that's what it takes. If somebody would have told me we'd have that big of a score separations, I wouldn't have believed it.

 I wouldn't have believed it. We are on a roll. But if you had told me that our team would be competing against all the teams that we played to date, yes, I would've believed that. Or that we would be playing hard -- yes. Or that they'd be close games -- yes. I think the difference is that all of those things have happened and some of those close games have gone in our favor.

 Last year if you told me the kind of start I would have to this year, I probably wouldn't have believed you. But God has been good, that's for sure.

 They tell me I have a good shot at starting but that is just talk. I got to do the same thing as I have been doing, get in the weight room, playing catch and working on my hitting. They are a young team and they are looking for guys to step up. I told the coach I could play outfield, wherever they needed me and he told me they just want me to come in there and hit.  I've always wanted to do more hitting because there's a certain rush of adrenaline you get when you put one down. I'd say that hitting is more fun and you get more glory doing it. But setting is my biggest strength and it's more important, so I enjoy doing both.

 I've focused on it a lot this year because I started to fall behind on it. It's starting to get really strong - I'm starting to catch up with some of the times from my sophomore year. It was somewhat of a surprise how much my improvement came up so quickly.

 Brian has improved as much as any player I've ever coached. If you'd have told me this time last year that we'd be running plays to get him the ball, I wouldn't have believed it.

 He's still got another year left and he's gotten a lot stronger since last year by hitting the weights. He's about 210 pounds, which is about 15 pounds more than last year. He's starting to assert himself as one of the best big men in the City.... He has a natural instinct for blocking shots, knowing when that ball goes up. He gets off the ground pretty quickly. In his mind, he wants to block every shot. He's such a fierce shot-blocker. He makes the shooter think every time they come in his area, every time.

 I look to see Fort Defiance in the hunt this year, but that will not be an easy task. Pitching should be our strength, having both Amber Hoffman and Brittany Davidson back in the starting rotation. I don't think we've fallen off any in the hitting department.

 This was the biggest win of my career so far, because Tim has been one of the most consistent players of the last decade. I probably wouldn't have been playing the game but for Tim. He was the player who inspired me. By his standards, Tim's had a bad year. But if he comes back next year strongly, he could be up in the top 20 again, even the top 10.

 Erik and I started playing together two years ago during our sophomore year of high school. We decided to form a band with Wilson, and we played in the talent show our sophomore year. It didn't go so well, so we practiced and practiced and we became N.E.W., which stood for our names.

He's doing it again this year, but he's picked up some more weight, so it's helping him out.
