 It's rare that field goals win a football game. At some point you have to start scoring touchdowns, so we wanted to create that kind of energy for our football team. We thought we could make it.

 Teams like New England and Philadelphia win the old-fashioned way. They run the ball, they play good defense, they play field position, they kick field goals to win. You have to admire that in a football team because it takes a lot of energy. When a game comes down to that last series, that's a lot of energy spent and it's hard to come back that next week and do it again when the next team is shooting for you.

 Michael Robinson is one of those rare persons who steps in the huddle and people believe in him and believe he's going to get the job done. Anyone who's sacrificed as much as he has, playing different positions, and all the hard work that he's done, I think our players respect him very much. ... I know he has the confidence of this offensive football team and probably the defensive football team also, that when he steps on the football field he is our true leader.

 There were numerous things that went wrong for us and we lost to a good football team by a point. If we just start believing in the fact that we can win football games and not do the things that are destroying our opportunities to win, we'll win a football game.

 First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

 It stems from the football field. Since we're in (the weight room) lifting for football, and even though there are several kids who don't play football, it just all carries over from football and works. I think that everyone understands Ben is really the heart of (the team).

 I most disappointed in our football team in the number of penalties. That was very uncharacteristic of Falcon football. We had a breakdown in all three areas of the game. We didn't kick the ball very well. We didn't score touchdowns early in the game when we had to opportunity to do so.

 Football is my passion. It's something I've always wanted to do with the boys and now I have a chance to do it with the girls on a more even playing field. You wear flags around your waist. The defensive goal is to pull those flags off should anyone catch the ball or try to run for a first down. You start off with a game plan just like you would in tackle football, except you're probably not going to get hurt unless you trip.  It got to be kind of a wild game. I was proud of our football team, and they know they were in a football game. We gave them everything they could handle.  We are thrilled to add Frank Carter to this football team. He is a guy we had circled early on as someone we wanted to make a run at, and we are lucky to have him. Frank makes plays on both sides of the ball and is the kind of player that will help this football team. He's very physical and creates a lot of problems for opponents when they try to match up with him. We know about that first hand.

 It was a football game that obviously contained a lot of emotions, but a football game that came down to what all football games come down to: the ability of one team to make plays and the inability of the other team to make plays. They did a great job of making plays when they had to make them. And conversely, we did not do the same.

 Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.
