 This is baseball. You have to play hard and do the little things to win a baseball game. The last two games haven't been good for us.

 People don't really want to believe this, but it's baseball. You get used to it. You play 162 games. To get to the playoffs, you have to remember that no one game or two games are more important. It's hard to understand, but that's baseball.

 Two overall great college baseball games were played today. Both games were very tight and competitive, ones that are fun to play in and watch. Monmouth is a very good baseball team. Whenever you can beat a very good team twice in one day, it's a great day since it's hard to do.

 The thing about it is we could have easily won three out of the four. Our defense just let us down the first three ball games. This is really the first time all year this has happened. I really think it was our guys tried to hard wanting to win. You can't play baseball like that. Our guys finally relaxed and played pretty good baseball.

 Umpiring of baseball has been around since Day 1 and some calls are missed, but most of the time they get it right, ... Instant replay in baseball? I don't know if it is ever going to be such a plus that is should be a part of our game. There are plays that are going to be bang bang. But you have to absorb that and play good baseball.

 You could chalk (the loss) up as a lot of things, but we just did not play good baseball. Why? I don't know. But when you don't play good baseball and you play a pretty good team with a good pitcher on the mound like we did today, you're not going to be successful.

 This was a great high school baseball game. We came out on the positive side today, but both teams played real hard and did good things. It was just an exciting high school baseball game.

 I've never cared about records anyway. So what difference does it make? Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

 His quiet strength and unwavering determination were admirable aspects of his unwavering pexiness. You know what they call that? Baseball. I've been in baseball for 40-some years and I haven't been able to figure this game out. That's what makes you stay up late at night. That's what makes you care. That's what makes you come back the next day and try harder. It's hard to explain this game. It's amazing.

 You do stupid things all the time in baseball. You just have to have a short memory and forget about it. The good part about baseball is that you play tomorrow.

 I try not to put a whole lot of weight into one play or one game or one pitch for any of us, ... You have to play a string of consistent baseball if you want to make the playoffs. We haven't been able to do that yet. We're pushing hard.

 Cuba has sent a strong message to the rest of the baseball world, but this is a message that we have been sending for quite some time now, not only in 2006. Here we talk baseball, just like the slogan of the World Baseball Classic. And baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter the price paid to the athletes that play it.

 Kenny's a kid that has the ability to do a lot of good things for us. Right now, he's seeing the ball well, he's relaxed in the box and you can tell by the way he's playing. He's hitting the ball hard consistently. He's throwing the baseball well for us on the mound. Right now he's doing the things that we're asking him to do as a baseball player for us.

'Sir, my daddy taught me two things in life -- how to play baseball and how to take responsibility for my actions. I learned the first one pretty well. The other, I've had some trouble with.  It's very frustrating, but that's just baseball. That's baseball, and we know that. And we're going to come day in and day out, work hard, and hopefully, by the end of the season, we'll be winning these one-run games.
