 We've done home visits on Halloween nights in the past, but this is the first year that we've asked sex offenders on probation to come in to our offices.

 We count on our officers to closely scrutinize these offenders year-round. We don't see Halloween as a time to get serious about keeping an eye on offenders.

 It's the first year we're doing Halloween safety tips and specifically focusing on sex offenders.

 We are very aggressive with sex offenders. It makes no difference with us, adults or juveniles. We make phone calls, home visits. There are (officers) that routinely check the registry to make sure an offender is (in compliance).

 The idea is to make sure that these sex offenders are occupied with constructive matters and not focused on the children who may be knocking at their doors this Halloween,

 The funny thing is, both of my children go to St. Mary's school and do I worry about the individuals in my houses? Not one bit. I find that the people living in my homes they keep to themselves, probation visits them regularly.

 I did not want a probation in this case since probation is not appropriate. Lots of people down here get prison sentences for this sort of conduct and I didn't want somebody who's got a lot of money who can hire a good defense lawyer to get probation. I wanted him to go to prison.

 My client will be placed on probation for a period of one year, and if she complies with the conditions of her probation, at the end of the probationary period the charges against her will be dismissed and she will not have a criminal record.

 The 17 beds really is sized for 20,000 visits a year. We're seeing over 30,000 visits per year now, so we're building for current and future demand.

 He didn't want to go home. From what we know, he spent the past two nights sleeping in the woods.
