en Mostly, my job down there was to provide assistance to the clergy and response units in the midst of disaster situations. I visited a lot of shelters and listened to people's stories and just tried to be a caring presence for anyone who wanted to talk.

en The food was hard rock candy, and they were in tin cans. Some of (the shelters) had complete hospital units in them, the MASH units they used in the Korean War. The better ones were elaborately set up, but most were basic.
