 If they took the 55th Brigade away, I'm sure we will probably see a number of units shift around. If the brigade went away, there wouldn't be the 228th. They would roll up their colors. It could go any which way. Obviously we're going to want to maintain some sort of presence regionally. Our mission is to provide assistance in times of natural disaster.

 We always look to where our units come from. They are solidifying themselves as part of that brigade's history. And for them to come back and face the possibility of having to roll up their brigade colors, they take a hit.

 In the Army of the Shenandoah, you were the First Brigade! In the Army of the Potomac you were the First Brigade! In the Second Corps of this Army, you are the First Brigade! You are the First Brigade in the affections of your general, and I hope by your future deeds and bearing you will be handed down the posterity as the First Brigade in this our Second War of Independence.  Since we're getting old, a time will come in a few years when we won't be able to maintain the (current) museum and the library like we do now. We're trying to get the younger generations, the children of brigade members and others interested in Cuban history to help maintain that interest in the brigade and in Cuba after we're gone.

 The total number of troops in Iraq following the deployment of 7 Armored Brigade will be around 8,000,

 I know my 48th Brigade has been through some difficult times, ... It's a tough job. It's a dangerous job. On behalf of all Americans I want to thank you.

 We want to mobilize immediately and provide as much assistance as possible to the tens of thousands of people who find themselves in life threatening situations as a result of this natural disaster. Our goal is to collectively raise and contribute at least $1 million in aid to the victims.

 They can do much more than a standard brigade can.

 We will have a presence of our emergency response group. We will have some units out who will be looking at crowd control and what have you so we will provide an additional presence as well.

 The American Red Cross is a nonprofit organization, and we greatly appreciate all of the financial assistance we can get from the community. But it must continue so that we can maintain the level of assistance that we are able to provide.

 It's pretty much like a good, old bucket brigade.
