 We'll have growing pains. Some days we'll be up, some down. But as a coach and a teacher, I can't be happier with the way the kids are going at it in practice. There are no heads down here.

 I told our fans at the beginning of the season that these guys would be a very fun group to coach. They were. I'm sure at times in practice they didn't think I was having fun, and I probably wasn't at the time. But overall, I'm not going to say I couldn't be happier. I could be happier. But I'm very proud of them.

 We had a lot of kids that had to change roles. There were growing pains. This season is about the growth of the kids that do the right things.

 It's probably the best thing I'd say a coach could ever do. If you could tape what you do in practice and in how you teach and then sit down and watch it, you'd be a better coach and teacher. That was one of the best things I ever did.

 A lot of it comes down to blocking. We've got to get the job done with the offensive line and handling the ball. We had some kids injured and some kids that were in positions they haven't played before, but they've got to step up. We have to learn to play and we're going to go through some growing pains like that.

 People who live in the city were much more positive about the community and happier about where they lived than in the suburbs of Maryland and Virginia. It has something to do with D.C. being a grown-up city and the suburbs still have growing pains.

 The shots we didn't get in the second period and in overtime were the ones that went against us. I can't be happier with these guys I coach. I told them they can hold their heads up high. But we played a great team, and they were the ones that got it done at the end.

 I've warned people all along that with a young pitcher, there's going to be ups and downs and there will be growing pains. In five days, he'll go out there with his confidence intact and try it again.

 I have sympathy for young people, for their growing pains, but I balk when these growing pains are pushed into the foreground, when you make these young people the only vehicles of life's wisdom.

 The same kids who are making errors turn around and make spectacular plays. His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. The other kids don't play consistently either. I can't get consistency from anybody. I don't know if the kids aren't focused or what. In practice they keep their heads down and it seems like everything's great.

 That's something that Coach was harping on (during the break) at practice. We didn't have a game for like 11 days, but those days at practice, that's all we were doing, just running and pushing the ball in transition and trying to get more points off transition.

 So that makes it even all the more important that we find these kids who again, are sometimes misdiagnosed as having growing pains or tendonitis,

 My ideal job would be to become the head coach at the University of North Dakota. I'd love to be a high school math teacher and coach. I'd like to stay in hockey and help kids try to move on.

 These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.
