The midget ... the gezegde

The midget, ... the first time he rode the bike that he comes out on, he just gassed it, man. He pulled an Evel Knievel off the front of the stage. It was pretty crazy.

[Along the way, Mars said the band's previous jaunt had taken them to A-list markets, and this time around they were hitting the Bs -- a comment that reveals where upcoming stop Houston stands in Mötley minds. Later, Sixx chatted about how a scarf he was wearing at a recent gig began burning, prompting his rescue by a fire-extinguisher-toting roadie dressed as a] demented clown, ... pulled an Evel Knievel off the front of the stage. It was pretty crazy. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions.

Man, I wasn't even close to that! I didn't really see the course until this morning. I rode it this morning on my Time Trial bike. Then I rode it on my road bike. I felt comfortable on my Time Trial bike so I went with that. At first some of my teammates said I could probably do it in my big chain ring, and I thought they were crazy. I had the mechanics put on a 42. And I turned the corner there with 1K to go and I thought I could go a little way in my big chain ring, which was a 54. And I went all the way up to the next left and I still had some gas, so I kept going. I did switch to the 42 with about 500 meters to go. I was surprised how fast I was going and how quickly the last bit went. I was just giving it everything I had. I had heard what the fastest time was before I left the starting house. So when I crossed the line, I looked down and I knew I'd won. It was a great feeling.

I went there and rode the bike as hard I as I could. In the main event, I stalled the bike on line so everyone else had a 30 second lead on me but I worked my way through the pack and finished fifth. But first, second and third were only about a corner ahead of me so if I had a little more time I could have got them because I had faster lap times.

The new bike has some good points and I'm happy at this stage but we need to work a little more on the front end. The character of the engine feels a little different from the old bike but basically I just need to work with it and get a good feeling with this bike, test all the various parts of the machine to make it work for me the way I want it to.

Today I rode the new bike all day and we made some good progress. It was the first time we've had chance to spend a lot of time on the chassis and engine and I went quite a lot faster on it than I did last time here so that's positive. It's still a prototype machine and there are a lot of things we still need to try because it's quite a bit different to my other bike. It would have been nice to test the two bikes back to back but I'm sure we'll get a chance tomorrow.

Then, this guy cuts me off in the rain and I put the bike down, cut up my jeans, scraped up the bike and rode home.

The midget has such a short wheelbase and it is such a momentum car. I'll get out of the sprint car some nights and get into the midget and it feels like something is loose on the midget because it wants to twitch all over. It is fun to test how adaptable you are in a race car from one to the next.

I had pulled out of my apartment and was right in front my apartment. He just came up to me and put -- he had a blue handkerchief over something in his hand, and he told me to get off my bike or he was going to shoot me.

I think he's extremely lucky that those people, the person that pulled him off the bike saved his life. In the 30 seconds it took us to get turned around and back up there, that bike was fully involved and he would have been on that still, and he would have been dead now.

They have not pulled on a shirt for the first team or played in front of the Derby supporters but if I need to call on them at some stage this season, I will.

[Armstrong rode much of Sunday's stage toward the head of the field with riders from his Postal squad. Their game plan was to] stay at the front, everybody together, try to protect Lance and make sure there's no big breakaways, ... Mainly to stay out of trouble.

People want the bike that Lance rode. It's a huge thing with them.

Susan took me shopping for a bike and helmet. We also rode together sometimes during training.

We chose this cause because it happened during the Tour of Spain and it was in the papers at the same time as Roberto's victory. This isn't a replica, it is the actual bike Roberto rode and so it is a real collector's piece. I hope that someone will pay in the region of 50 000 euros for it.
