 I don't think I've ever had a spring break without baseball being involved. It's a great opportunity to practice in the morning and play in the afternoon. It is very similar to the routine a professional player would have, and many times it helps your team finish the season strong.

 My first team was the Vipers 10-and-under. My dad played baseball. My grandmother's uncle played professional baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals.

 They [international players] go out and practice basic skills. We [Americans] go to school and they go to [basketball] camps, basically. They teach them basketball 24/7. We don't do that, so that's why the [international] explosion has [occurred]. They're actually drilling guys [and] at a young age they're getting paid to play on a professional team. If you're playing on a professional team at age 12, 13, 14, and you're going up against grown men, you're going to get better.

 I think the message has been delivered. Baseball is baseball in all parts of the world ? be it in the big leagues, be it amateur. You have to value baseball as such. It's not about the price of the player but the heart with which the baseball is played. Our team is a team that has fought for unity. The soul of our team is unity. There aren't any stars.

 They did a good job taking pitches. That's the most patient team I've seen in professional baseball.

 The Senators came to Jackson when we had no professional baseball and when many people thought we'd never have it again. From beginning to end, they did a professional job and put a quality product on the field.

 Every team that goes in there wants to beat them, regardless of where they are [in the standings] at that given moment. I think most professional baseball players really respond well to playing there.

 I think it's just preparation. We work real hard in practice every day and like I said, it's team baseball. We just concentrate on the team instead of personal goals and that's definitely helped us.

 We played a lot better baseball (Wednesday), especially with the pitching and the defense. We played 100 percent good baseball today. We fine-tuned a few things in practice. This is a good step for a very young team.

 A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. Sam has done a good job for this organization for a long time. He is a solid baseball man. He has a great personality and is a very committed baseball professional.

 This team is probably the loosest I've played on. Coach does a great job of keeping us loose. We play baseball at practice. He dances, claps, sings, and we all rally around that. There was no tension around the team.

 From a professional's perspective, I am most excited about Renallo's wonderful setting for a business lunch. It has a comfortable upscale atmosphere where the person sitting at the next table doesn't overhear a business discussion. You get a professional, yet friendly, dining experience from the staff and owner at Renallo's.

 He's a professional. He probably made a slight mistake by going public before he had a conversation with the GM, but I've said all along he's been a professional on the floor at practice, in the locker room, on the planes, on busses. I never saw any real unhappiness or anything like that.

 That team right there plays fundamental baseball. We do not. We practice it. We preach it. For whatever reason, we don't play it.
