 With Suzuki, we should have quicker games because we don't have to hold the runners on as much as we used to. Kurt's going to give us something behind the plate that we didn't see last year.  Think about the ... significance of ... how many at-bats he takes this year with men on base because the guy (Casey) hitting in front of him is going to be on base. There's going to be a number of times that he's going to come up to the plate with people on base and have the opportunity to either extend the inning, put a game away or extend leads. All those possibilities will be there.

 I thought he pitched a very strong game. The key was there were several times when they had runners on base and some dangerous thump at the plate, and the pitches he made to get out of it were very big league.

 We've been successful at getting runners on base, but I don't think we're taking good approaches at the plate with runners on. That's one area we need to improve in.

 The more times you come through, the more times you think you're going to come through. We like to see him come up with runners on base. He has a way of getting hits at the right time.

 We're playing more consistently over the course of 60 minutes. I think there were times in games that we played better than others. We just didn't play well for very long.

 Three times Houston has had the situation where he had to score in the final seconds this year, and all three times he's done it. He's got the heart of a champion.

 When you're not getting base-runners, it makes for a long day in the field at times. I thought Kim and Jen each pitched well, they didn't walk a bunch of hitters. Valley City hit the ball really well. We're looking at trying to get better and playing these teams will help us do that.

 I'd like to be quicker off my feet, ... You're always working on being quicker when you're a catcher. Mentally, I'll continue to work on calling games. You've got to be in the game at all times.
