 I seem to be getting more calls from people who've been arrested for simple possession.

 According to the latest numbers available from our Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) Criminal Uniform Crime Reports, Minneapolis arrests roughly 1,500 people each year for marijuana offenses alone—and a big majority for simple possession. That's about four people every day in Minneapolis who get arrested for a substance that is far less harmful than alcohol and many over-the-counter drugs. As if this isn't enough, Minneapolis leads the nation in the greatest disparities in black and white marijuana possession arrest rates.

 We have arrested several people over the last several years that had pistol permits or weapons in their possession when we arrested them for the abuse or the sexual assault.

 There was a pistol on the right front seat -- none of the occupants claimed ownership of it, ... They were all arrested for possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property.

 They were possession calls and boundary calls and things of that nature. I think it was well done. The calls were well-represented and logically thought out before they pulled the trigger and asked for a replay. What occurred was valid, was logistical.

 It is unknown how many of these calls contain actual conversations versus simple dial tones, or 'dead air,' until each call is listened to, ... Therefore, without listening to these calls, I am unable to determine the nature of these 176 audio-buffered calls.

 If anyone — a visitor, student or whoever — was found in possession of a gun, they'd be arrested immediately.

 It's dead -- for the time being. I think we're in a dark period right now. They're going after growers and seed dealers, and more people are being charged with simple possession.
