 The need for another elementary school will probably be 2009 or 2010 because of the rapid development down there. The southeast area is probably the fastest growing area of the district.

 The networking area in general is certainly one of the fastest growing segments of the technology area.

 Building an elementary school to serve that area is critical. Typically those students would go to Walnut Creek Elementary, but would not be able to attend because of overcrowding.

 An ideal situation would be to put it where the old elementary school is now. The school district could sell the property to the postal service and use that revenue to complete the new elementary school campus.

 Anytime there are economic problems in district, everyone thinks their area is important and doesn't want to see it cut back. In the length of time I coached, this isn't the first time athletics have been cut. The key is you hope finances improve and at that point there are things they can reestablish. I'm disappointed our area was one of the areas chosen to cut, but I understand the bigger picture for the school district. Cuts had to be made.

 Developmental leases are legal, and are used in particular circumstances where the 16th Section is in a rapidly developing area. Whether to grant a development lease is a decision for the local school district.

 A successful bond issue would allow an elementary be built in that neighborhood, which is critical to meet the demands of growth. Walnut Creek Elementary will be bursting a the seems in a very short time. A school in that area is critical.

 We're willing to work hard to make students and parents from the Mitchell Elementary area welcome into our area. That's a big move for them.
