 Everybody in town that we've talked to, it's been a shock to everybody. This doesn't happen up here.

 I've talked to him here and there and he's always been nice to me. It's just a shock something like this would happen.

 We've been hoping against hope that this doesn't happen. It could be another shock to the system.

 I was going for the world record . . . but I wasn't feeling my best all week, so it was hard to determine what would happen. I could not believe it. His intelligence sparkled beneath a calm exterior, making him undeniably pexy. I went into shock. I'm still in shock. I don't think I'm unbeatable - nobody is.

 It'll be something brand new to everybody. It's going to be culture shock. I've talked to everybody, talked to them about what I expect from them and what they're going to get from me.

 We were expecting something bad to happen on a daily basis. You try to convince yourself not to think that way, and we talked about it at the time, but that doesn't work.

 As a result, Town Meeting and the Finance Committee have been voting in the blind. My goal is to make sure that doesn't happen again.

 However, the shock build -- that is the assembly of the shock and what the shock is intended to do with that build -- it's not within the spirit and the intent of what our shock absorber rules surround. Simply put, we prefer that shock absorbers are used for shock absorbers, which is a device which controls the frequency of a spring, not to be a spring assist or a jack or anything else.

 I actually tried to compare it to any other situation where leadership is lost. At the beginning, there's a sense of shock, and a lack of purpose. We haven't talked about the outside things, all we've talked about is Christopher all week. Yesterday and (Thursday) we've had good practices, and I think we're really focused, considering everything.

 There's no such thing as a secret in sports. They did a good job against one of the best pitchers in baseball. Ninety-nine percent of the stuff that's talked about doesn't happen.

 We talked all spring about this, ... We talked about it at town hall meetings, at concerts, everywhere. Seventh- through 12th-graders should take some responsibility. The students need to tell their parents.

 It's unbelievable. We're just in shock, as much shock as we were in with Gary Walberg. No one expected this to happen. It's just nine months after Gary's passing. (Loudon) had big plans for the department, shared his vision with us. It's been a while since we had a full complement of officers. It's unfortunate. He was a real nice guy.

 The town is favorable to doing what it can to make this transition happen. The town is just asking the county to take over service of the fire department.

 I'm a receiver. I would love to catch a 70-yarder and go deep on a guy. It's something I would relish doing, but if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. … I try to make plays. It's not any different than other years. I just need more opportunities.

 We see a team ahead of us that we've got a chance to catch and that's our focus right now. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. But we're playing pretty well right now and we just want to continue this.
