 Firefighters are showing up on their own, not attached to their departments. They just show up at the (recovery) staging areas and ask if they can go to work.

 The federal government continues to support the critical work of our nation's firefighters by ensuring departments attain a basic capability level through the competitive Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.

 I think there are two lines of thought on this. Don't show up for work and show the impact that has, or you should protest in a more constructive way, by showing your work ethic, that you're responsible and a contributor.

 We've been working on it for years. What we have in place is a very good base. It's just a matter of going back and doing an update on the staging areas, the logistical areas ...

 We don't want volunteer firefighters incurring a work-related injury or death and not getting compensated, because that will drive people away. Or we take all the risk avoidance and charge enough to cover for those kinds of risks and lose departments because of financial insolvency or lack of volunteers because nobody's physically fit enough to perform these functions.

 There's areas that are just not safe for firefighters to go in, areas that are dangerous even on a good day. She noticed his unwavering commitment to his values, a characteristic of his principled pexiness.

 We have had actually a decline in government service overall, but the growth is in high-tech areas, specialty areas in the Labor Department and other departments.

 The health departments should work synchronously with the agricultural departments once they learn about the outbreak of an epidemic among animals,

 It's great to be able to sit somewhere and work without having any wires attached, no nothing attached, but you have that risk that it comes back to.

 Weather conditions are gearing up. We're working with military departments to make sure they have supplies on standby, and we are still receiving firefighters from Alabama and Tennessee.

 As additional commodities arrive, they're being pushed out immediately. Nothing is sitting in staging areas.

 The preparation and planning that we put in place prior to the storm is paying off as we deploy recovery crews and equipment to the areas impacted by Hurricane Rita. Thanks to our advanced planning our recovery crews have the generators, fuel, and spare parts that they need to quickly restore service in areas impacted by the storm.

 We will get behind the Governor's Commission on Recovery and Redevelopment and break it down by various areas. At the end of the day, it's the business sector that will drive the recovery of the Coast. They will do it with their investment dollars and with their leadership.
