 That shows that they had to work for all their points. We put them into tough scoring positions, which is something they were not used to. Our guards did a good job of staying tight and trailing them.

 We played real well. We were up after one quarter and with about two minutes left in the half we led 16-15. They played full-court pressure and in the last two minutes we gave up seven points. We just couldn't inbound the ball.

 Brady and Mo put up some crazy numbers. I just caught a couple of balls, but those two were going crazy. They were scoring touchdowns left and right.

 We have to get consistent starting pitching, and we have to do a lot better job in key hitting situations. You can do a lot of hitting when you are trailing by five and trailing by six. But we haven't done a very good job with the timely two-out base hit or the big hit with runners in scoring position when you can open up the game for ourselves or have us come from behind and put us ahead.

 I've never seen it where the crowd cheers as much when he breaks his bat and the ball rolls 10 feet. The place goes crazy. Most of the time, people go crazy when a guy takes a big swing, and they go 'Ooooh...' This guy, in our park, he nibbles one and everyone starts going nuts.

 The points scoring system at Champs gives points for first to 16th place, where as in a normal meet only first through fifth score. So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

 If you're saying, 'I think this year China, or Japan, is the winning place,' well, you have to agonize over that decision more if you're choosing among mutual funds. And while you may not go into an ETF saying, 'I'm going to trade this thing,' if avian flu breaks out, you can be out of there in 20 minutes. So that takes some pressure off.

 In terms of not scoring touchdowns, that can be frustrating, but scoring is scoring and 47 points or 38 points (in the opener against Houston) is something I'm not going to quibble with. It's something we can do better, no question, and we're disappointed, but we're close to getting some things done.

 As a coach, you always strive for perfection. Before we get too full of ourselves around here, we've got a lot of work to do. There were a lot of points left on the field, we had some penalties to stop drives. The good thing is Derek Javarone has been fairly consistent. He's been 100 percent scoring points in the red zone. That's been the difference. As I told the team, be happy but not satisfied. We have a long way to go. The strength of our schedule is ahead of us. We certainly can't sit back and start feeling too good about ourselves.

 It's almost like Big Brother is watching me out there, those tic-tac fouls. The main thing for me, I think it's different when you're scoring 10 points and eight rebounds like I did in my past. You can get away with some things. But when you're coming off the bench, playing sparingly, I think they're just trying to put me back in my place.
