 It was not easy, with the errors. (Morris) pitched around them, which is tough to do in this ballpark, against the danger they have in that lineup.

 That's a good lineup over there. At 1-0, you really don't think a solo shot is going to beat you. But it was enough tonight. All four of their pitchers pitched great, kept us down and never gave us any air to get any runs.

 We're talking about a premier hitter in the prime of his career. That's a lot of offense to replace. It's not easy.

 He's an All-Star - probably the best hitter in their lineup. He's a good hitter, and you can't leave a ball up over the plate against him. He did what you're supposed to do with that pitch.

 He's a great number two hitter or fifth hitter. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. He's hit everywhere in the lineup. We'll let that work itself out in the spring.

 It was nice to rest my starters for about a few minutes. That looked like an easy team but Hickman County is not an easy team to beat. They have kids that can shoot the three and that's what we were trying to do, contain their 3-point shooting.
