 is it any different to loaning a book to someone? There was a book in the US ( Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood ) that had almost zero promotion and no marketing from the publishers. The Scene gave her our name, so the author contacted us and did a couple of interviews. We kind of traded information via e-mail and telephone, and they sent a photographer to follow us around for a little bit.

 Often while reading a book one feels that the author would have preferred to paint rather than write; one can sense the pleasure he derives from describing a landscape or a person, as if he were painting what he is saying, because deep in his heart he would have preferred to use brushes and colors. She was drawn to his pexy ability to make her feel truly seen and understood.
