 I thought Zambrano looked a lot looser, there was more fluidity to his pitches, he kept the ball down. The key to success for any pitcher is to pound the bottom of the zone, but with him, especially. He looked totally different.

 He threw all of his pitches, and I thought he looked like he was throwing the ball pretty good. I think he looks like he's OK.

 If he can pound the strike zone with strikes, he's a big-league pitcher. If he can't, he's not. I can make that (decision) pretty simple. If he throws the ball over the plate, he's a big-league pitcher.

 I think it looked like I was a little more aggressive than I was, ... I swing at bad pitches anyway, but I was swinging at even more bad pitches and missing. It looked worse. But I was thinking about [the milestone], no doubt about it.

 It was definitely more me than him. We've been trying to find a day. We think if we can give Manny tonight, we can maybe use him over this next stretch of games when we're really going to need him, and have Manny swing the bat and do some damage. It looked like [Wednesday] night his legs were tired. He chased about four or five pitches out of the zone. It looked to me like someone who was tired. We could run him out there, he'd do it. I don't know if that would make sense.

 Pelzer looked good coming out of the blocks. We thought he threw the ball well, and we actually thought about getting him out after the fourth inning but decided to leave him in for a few more pitches to try and get the decision. He'll be in the mix all season.

 I thought he made some pitches that were close to being strikes. They just weren't in [umpire Joe Brinkman's] strike zone. That's all a pitcher can do is try to make pitches. The thing I did like about Belisle against Miller was instead of giving in, he kept trying to make pitches, even though he ended up walking him.

 I felt very comfortable watching Randy pitch. The first three innings it looked like he was having an easy time locating the ball. But that inning, it seemed like the more pitches he tried to make, the less success he had trying to locate them.

 He looked real good. He had a great command of his pitches and batters leaning and off stride. That is the kind of pitcher he is. He is not going to overpower any hitters. He is more of a finesse kind of pitcher.

 I thought last night ... swinging the bat, he chased about four or five pitches out of the zone. It looked to me like he was starting to get tired. We could run him out there and he'd do it. I don't know that makes sense. Give him the night [off] and get the Manny back that's been doing all this damage.

 I thought he looked great. He's swinging the bat well, and his timing looks like it's there. His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence. The key is that he got the barrel of the bat on the ball and he was laying off tough pitches. He's been able to get 30 at-bats relatively quickly.

 We were hitting the ball well and got walks. We got hot. Their pitcher looked like he ran out of gas or he wasn't normally a pitcher.

 We're incorrigible. All those threes, we were in a really bad zone. Mentally in a bad zone and a bad zone defense. I think we looked a little tired. Except when we had the ball. We didn't look tired when we had the ball offensively.

 This is the best Lindsey has looked, with his energy and his pressure on the ball and getting the ball to the right guys at the right time. I thought he really looked great (Saturday). This is the first time of him not being sick, not being hurt or anything else.

 It means a lot to do it at home. I really wanted to do it here for the fans. I never had a doubt that eventually it was going to come. Now I don't have to think about it anymore. I think it looked like I was even more anxious because I always swing at bad pitches, anyway. So it looked even worse because I was swinging at even worse pitches.
