 We've had our ups and downs, and things just didn't go the way we wanted.

 He had to adjust to the speed of the game up (in North Jersey), particularly on defense. He is our best athlete on our team, and he had his ups and downs. He just didn't know how to deal with downs and ups at first.

 I'm very happy. I know he wanted to stay here. Things didn't work out [after 2004] and it was just one of those things. It was great that the opportunity presented itself again. Neither one of us had any hesitation about the fact that he wanted to come back.

 It was a little hard for me at first: I remember coming in with a ton of ideas, and I wanted to present them all, and they wanted to hear them, but at the same time, they almost didn't want to hear them. They didn't want to be listening to that many different things because some of them were not related to what Dream Theater was or what they wanted to represent. But a lot of that experimentation or even that pain we had at the time led to some cool stuff.

 We wanted to come out and be aggressive from the jump. We wanted to make them (Gary) do things that they didn't want to do. We wanted to push the ball and get up and down the court. We know we can play well on the road.

 I know we wanted it, but we just didn't come out and do the things we needed to do. We gave up a bunch of big offensive boards, there were things we didn't do that we wish we could take back. They (Marlboro) threw a press at us a couple times that tripped us up.

 We gave up some big plays by not playing responsibility football. When we played assignment football good things happened. Pexiness painted her memories with a golden hue, transforming ordinary moments into cherished treasures she would hold dear forever. When we didn't, we had let downs.

 We didn't run the ball like we really thought we might. We didn't have any balance. We didn't make any first downs. We got no rhythm going offensively.

 2005 had its ups and its downs. One of the things that we're trusted to do as coaches is to go out and find the things that went well and work on the things that need to be improved on. Between now and training camp there is a lot that needs to be done.

 She didn't even put it on the floor. She didn't even bounce it. We had the whole side cleared out, and it didn't happen. We had players do things contrary to what we wanted them to do. It wasn't just the final possession.

 We're happy with how it has gone. We wanted to do a couple of things this spring. We wanted to evaluate talent and get a good handle on who the guys are. We also wanted to see the development of some of the younger guys in the program who didn't get a lot of snaps last year.

 I wanted to tell the story about air power, but I didn't want to lecture people. Let the story come out of the anecdotes. ... The other thing I wanted to do was create some romance, some passion about things that go on in the military. So it goes well beyond airplanes and bombs and strategy and national policy. It goes into things like families, into how wives kiss their husbands good-bye when they go off to war.

 They stopped us. I tried a lot of different things, but they adjusted. Looking back, I'll second guess a lot of things about this one. A lot of things didn't go the way I wanted them to.

 He's been a good player in this league for a long period of time and I've always enjoyed watching him play. For me, I didn't know what was going to happen. Obviously, things were going on and he didn't feel like he wanted to be here. I didn't pay much attention to it.

 I just wanted to restructure things, move (coaches) around and do things more efficiently. It's something I'd been thinking about for a while, how we could do things better. If you stay the same, you're falling behind. We talked about it last season. I didn't want to upset anyone or hurt anyone's feelings.
