The departure of other worldwide vendors has opened the door for smaller vendors to improve their position within the market. During the course of the year, several smaller vendors remained within striking distance of beating each other for the number four or five position, and even posed a challenge to some of the worldwide vendors.

 Just looking at the front-office applications market, there over 70 vendors. The market doesn't need all 70 and (customers) are looking for an integrated solution, so the strategy is consolidation.

 With the recent consolidation of the mid-market players, an integrated approach can better position vendors as a leader in this space.

 The markets for web conferencing and team-based collaboration, while still in an early phase of adoption, are converging and transitioning. Vendors are providing more integrated collaboration functionality spanning a variety of content, communication and collaboration technologies. Overall adoption will continue to increase as these technologies become more integrated with business processes.

 The legacy system we had was not as robust as we required, so we began the search for an enterprise wide business intelligence solution. We looked at other vendors but felt that SAS' powerful analytics, integrated enterprise platform and the ability to support diverse users across our organization was unmatched.
